  1. Good Luck Western!!!!! Keep us posted
  2. I am sure in one form or another this may be a repeat thread but was just wondering what action everyone is having or seeing and how its comparing to last season. I spent my buck tag on opening morning within the 1st hour with a respectable 7 pt that I was happy with. Excited about bagging a buck early I was even more syched to get back out and video tape wild life as well as try and fill my doe tags. and sqeeze in other hunting that I love as well such as duck, turkey and upland bird hunting. I have been very disapointed with my deer activity. I have been out 6 more times since opening morning with sits at min. of 2 1/2 hours at a time and have yet to see another deer. Just curious to here feed back from others.
  3. Congrats Nice looking wood ducks!! Duck hunting is a blast you will learn to love and respect this sport!! Best of luck to ya!!
  4. New York Hunter no I am not involved in that program. I did sign up for it 3 years ago when they started it and went to all the meetings but never actually hunted in it. There were alot of regulations and time limits on when and how you could hunt so I never participated. I hunt a lot of private land with in the town as well as my camp down in southern tier.
  5. Here is a better pic njg0621. He was a big bodied deer.
  6. njg No the picture looks that way but it was a dead center double lung shot. He ran about 50 yds.
  7. Thanks all!! It was a great hunt and I am happy with him. New York hunter I am definatly keeping the horns and putting them on a plague to add to my collection and trophy room. Advanced NY Hunter where abouts do you work. And also not sure why my profile says I am new probably cause I have not posted in a while but I have been on here for a few years now. But thanks again everyone for the welcome and congrats. Its nice to see fellow hunters give advice, share stories and compliment one another. Good luck to all through out the seasons and be safe. 8. Western, They are pests!! they are everywhere down at my camp in southern tier. They kill trees especially pines cause they eat the bark, they chew through our camps, sheds storage areas and crap all over the place. They are pretty much good for nothing but destruction. any and every chance we get we shoot them.
  9. Thanks all!! He did not go very far maybe a total of 50 yds. I had a pass through lung shot. Great blood trail!!
  10. Shot this 7pt opening morning @ 8:15AM. He presented a perfect 15 yd broadside shot. He is not a wall hanger but I am happy. Especially since most of my hunting buddies didnt go out due to the strong winds!! Got to be in it to win it!!!!
