Hello fellow hunters and forum friends I will try not to drag this out but may be difficult. 1st off hope everyone had a good and safe thanksgiving. Ok here we go, I am very curious what everyones imput was or is to this past season/seasons and with our deer hunting in general. I am not a greenhorn at this sport. I am an advid hunter its my passion its one of the things I live for. I hunt all kinds of game deer,turkey,duck,geese,pheasants. I have been doing so for 20 years. Certainly when it comes to prime time for deer during archery and into gun that is where I spend most of my time. This season for me is by far the worse deer season I have had in my hunting career with last year a close 2nd. Now I do not rank this with the lack of harvest, for this season I shot a 7pt. on opening morning of bow and last season I took a doe during archery and a 8pt during gun. But with the lack of seeing deer in general, encounters, oppurtunities, rubs, scrapes, etc. Other then the deer I shot on opening day of archery I never saw a single deer!!!!! I hunt 2 units 8F where I live and 9T where my camp is. And so far this Gun season I am at 000000!!!! 2 years in a row down at my camp we are at ZERO for opening weekend with 7 guys out of my camp. Gunshots were almost none!!!! And only 3 deer were spotted that were out of range. SO WHAT IS THE DEAL????? And we were not the only ones as with talking to others who hunt camps same thing was and still is going on. Are there just not as many deer as we like to think anymore?? Is the DEC giving out to many tags?? Is it coyotes?? Am I the only one?? I know many others say the same. Like I said this is my passion and I do spend alot of time hunting but the lack of seeing deer is really starting to where on me:( I just had to get it off my chest sorry for long drag out story. Your Feed back would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Posting this pic for a buddy of mine who shot this buck yesterday afternoon in the town of Greece, NY. He is not on the site so I figured I would brag for him. He is one of those supersticious kind of guys and always has had the luck. He has passed up a bunch of smaller deer all season in hopes of shooting this big 8 he has been seeing. So he took 11/11/11/off from work to hunt cause he said it was going to be his day and low and behold this buck put that 8 he was after to shame!!!! Congrats to my friend it was well derserved LUCKY BASTARD!!!!!!!LOL

Although I scored a decent 7pt on opening day this year I must say next to last year this has been one of my worse!! I know it sounds funny to say I scored the 1st day and have had a bad season but other then the 7pt I Shot and one other hunt I have not seen any deer!! And its pretty much a repeat from last season for me. I used to always see deer just about every hunt. Not sure whats going on.

Was out yesterday afternoon saw 2 does in a hurry to get some place, then 20 min later saw another doe followed by a decent 6 pt on her tail. Went out today did the mid-day hunt sat from 9-1. it was dead calm and warm. bugs were horrible!! didnt see anything however checked trail cam which is in next tree over and had 120 pics since last weekend bunch of does and smaller bucks. almost all movement were daytime pics!! early-mid morning and mid afternoon. things are looking good

Amazing what 1 week during this time of year can do to activity I have not been out at all this week due to work although owning your own buisness has its perks from time to time when it comes to taking time off of hunting this week unfortunatly was not one of them!! lol anywho the reports I am getting in over the past 2 days has been awesome. Lots of deer activity as well as bone on the ground!! Good luck to all my next day in the woods is monday all day!!

Good glad he got busted to many people I know do not reprt there deer. Lots of peolpe think just putting a tag on the carcass is all thats needed and dont bother calling it in or going online. There should be more inforcement towards this issue in my opinion

Holy!!!!. Looks like he ended his season short!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats why its called hunting and not shopping for deer!! lol. Its nothing out of the ordinary. Trail Cams will help pattern your deer activity. I would at least have one at every stand location. Set your stands for different wind conditions. Dont worry about moving stands around during the season some of your best scouting takes place during the season and you see what deer are actually doing. Its also nice to have a climber so you can be more moble instaed of locked in to your stand locations. Keep it up your doing fine and dont worry sooner or later you will connect!! Glad to here I am not the only one not seeing deer. Well hopefully things start to pick up in the next week or so!!! Bottom line Got to be in it to win it!!!
