  1. Simmered for a good 5 or so hours, cirned beef is fork shreddable, the way we like it. Made Rueben quesadilla’s with it, sauerkraut, shredded corned beef, swiss, and dressing inside.
  2. Mild day here. 29 degrees, and overcast, but slowly becoming partly cloudy. Very smooth, and quiet ride up yesterday. We left right from work at 4pm. We zoomed up the Thruway to hit I-90 Mass Pike, shot across to Worcestor, and up. We saw a tom of troopers, and deer. I was surprised that there was ZERO snow until about 37 mies south of here. It has been mild here for the last week I was told, like at home. I had more snow at home, than 85% of the ride here. Anyways, the sun is peaking out as I type this, long day yesterday so we are having a lazy morning, but will be out checking some properties later. Should have some nice pics to share this evening.
  3. 520 miles later, we are home.
  4. Nice, you will be in good shape. Plus being NEW, you will not deal with dirty bolt threads, and debris getting in your way, etc.
  5. Our Gator roof has 4 buckles to hold its roof on, for whatever thats worth to you? Quick on, and off in a minute. Again not a salesman haha
  6. Niiiice. Your factory skids, how are they attached? The X3’s are riveted on, pisses a lot off drilling them all out. You haven’t taken that thing up the road?
  7. @Robhuntandfish I cam only imagine all the stories out there. Had one of our guys in a tandem’s head plow rip through a car’s A pillar a few weeks ago, thank god no passenger in car. Week before that one of our trucks was winging back a 2 lane rd, and the head plow hangs over the double yellow, basically you run your driver side tires on the double yellow. A superduty was coming towards him, and never moved over, tore the whole side the pickup off. When I say “our trucks” its a different department. I was driving down route 302 state rd, earlier in my F350 mason dump, 9’ V on front, full sander, in 4x4, and a tandem cane off the exit ramp, and rolled through the stop sign to merg into my lane, as we were headed to the same shop. I was right in that blind spot from the wing up….i had to basically keep turning into the shoulder to avoid the head plow coming into my fender/door area. I was literally watching the damn plow and steering accordingly to avoid it, I bet within inches of shearing my door mirror off….I was expecting the plow to blast the dump body, and spin me around. I pulled into the shop lot, spun around, and he got out as white as the snow apologizing a hundred times. I just want people to be safe!
  8. Just be careful out there in these snow storms please. The big tandem dumps with wings on the side are tough to see out of the sides at intersections, please be cautious around these trucks. It’s the trucks responsibility obviously to maneuver safely, but just please be careful, and remind newer drivers you care for as well. Especially late in the season I am seeing a lot of accidents with these trucks, and they are ugly. The front plows are face height while in pick up trucks…decapitation(spelling?) is very easy. I had a very close call earlier with a tandem, some guys are just letting their guard down. I am not trying to be the safety police this week, just pure coincidence, so please bare with me.
  9. Yeah not ideal like you said. You go for a rip in your machine yet or what??? lol
  10. Sounds great to me!
  11. Enjoy and great scenery
  12. In what area does the intake pull air air from on the Talon? It’s like anything else, everyone’s needs wants will differ due by to riding areas, etc.
  13. Thanks, I lucked out with fitment for sure. Cheap bar, but great for trails, shame not to utilize it. Thank you sir. I have 2 more lights to add, just waiting for the switch to arrive. I will take better pics, and show more detail this install coming up.
  14. Adding some lighting. An inexpensive light bar that I had on my ATV prior, that I swapped over. I like to make my own relay wiring harnesses for my lighting. I just enjoy doing so, but a lot of manufacturers include a relay harness, or have them available. Pre-made harnesses I have seen from $10-$60ish depending on the specs of what you plan to power with them. Anyways, I solder, and shrink tube everything, and I prefer to run my grounds right to the battery. On my machine it has power posts in the tunnel in between the seats. Simple enough to get to…it features a constant hot, key hot, and ground. The power posts are just a stud you bolt onto. I use an inline fuse, and a relay in between this power post, and light. I purchased vehicle specific light bar brackets for the shock tower. I have 2 more LED pod lights that I am acquiring parts for now to install onto the roll cage so it all looks factory inside. I use 14 ga wire typically, and 30/40a relays, etc. Hopefully people enjoy posts like this?
  15. Pretty neat, thanks for explaining, I will definitely look into it
  16. I will have to look up a Yamaha clutch just for haha’s. I don’t have a ton of experience with clutches. I’ve replaced the rollers in a golf cart primary, thats about it. At work I always blow them out at oil changes. I have been watching videos here, and there though, and I have clutch tools set aside in my Amazon cart. I’m not an Amazon freak but its a good way to remember which tools are needed etc for me. My dad might even have the tools. I know my X3 clutch says 500 mile inspections, check rollers etc. Considering a clutch kit in the future, so I am trying to learn more about these clutches. Thanks for adding info here!
  17. Let’s also add to blow the clutch and secondary out with compressed air.
  18. I forgot a very important supply to have on the trail if you are a belt driven machine. If your UTV is belt driven always keep a spare drive belt, and clutch tool on you, and sockets/bits to access the clutch cover. Some guys tear through belts, others never need to change a belt. They are pricey, but high heat will snap a belt, and if so, you will not be able to drive on your own power, until replaced. Even in 4x4 you will not move with a belt driven machine. I need to take my own advice here, and order a spare, I am at 780 miles, no issues, but I don’t want to get into a bad situation riding solo.
  19. WHEEL SCRAPERS: these are on some makes of UTV’s. They were under the rear knuckles on my machine. It’s basically a plate bolted under the knuckle that scrapes accumulating mud out from the inside of your wheels. A random internet pic will be attached. The issue with these is that the gap between the scrapper, and wheel is tight enough to allow a stone to get lodged in between. You wont know this, and as you are driving that stone can actually cut through the wheel, and allow the air to escape from the tire. If you don’t carry a spare, you are screwed. In the photo below, you can see the black plate hanging down. A lot of guys unbolt these plates if they stick with factory wheel diameter. If you go with a larger wheel diameter, the more clearance you gain in between the wheel, and scrapper. Mine are removed…
  20. Hopefully I don’t run into any of them at the prosthetist’s office in the future.
  21. I hate hearing that, sorry to hear. It doesn’t take much.
  22. Agreed, with air filled tires if a bead breaks, all that tie down force is gone completely if in a rollover. I do run all 4, rather have them, and not need them for my long trips. I also think if something happened at least authorities know you had multiple anchors, god forbid someone was hurt by detached cargo. I will say guys at work hate how picky I am here with ratchet straps, lol.
