Next time he'll take the Whitestone

My mature doe died yesterday from a .243. 1 shot. Nosler 90 gr BT. It was a big fat doe, she ran about 30-40 yards, because she was looking at me, and I shot her in the neck. Anything more than .243 for deer is unnecessary. My previous deer was also a .243.

I got lucky in more ways than 1. My doe was facing me, snorting at me. I shot her straight through the neck, and the bullet traveled the entire body length, but no exit. Barely any blood because it was a straight in neck shot. Sometimes luck works out!!

I made the stupidest rookie mistake, and I'm not a rookie. Big woods. I shot a nice deer, 100 yards, saw it run 50-70 yards, and saw it crash. Big big woods. I turn around to get my back pack, and all my other shiit which was behind me. It was hot outside: Jacket, gloves, hat, pack was all behind me. I spent a minute gathering everything & put it on, ALL FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I turn around to head down the mountain to my deer, and I was completely disorientated as to where I shot the deer !! and what tree area was the general direction. It took me an hour to find it, and it was pure luck that I found it. Should have taken me 5 minutes to find it. I was 100 yards off from the shot area. Never take your eyes off the deer, or area where you shot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and keep flagging tape on you, and not buried in your pack.

Do you guys use a Fox Pro caller ?

I have 2 opportunities to hunt Coyotes. 4F or 4O . Which area has more Coyotes ? I have not been up there yet to scout...

Does anyone make sausage & salami on Long Island? I have a bunch of wild game I want to turn into sausage. The one butcher on Long Island can't do it anymore...

Try that in Middletown, and let us know if your truck is there in the morning

15. “Loaded firearm” means any firearm loaded with ammunition or any firearm which is possessed by one who, at the same time, possesses a quantity of ammunition which may be used to discharge such firearm.

Even if someone cites that law, you'll still tell me I'm wrong !
-
Judges & officers don't know every law. If you cite a law reference, the law sticks. Someone cited the actual law, and you guys are still disagreeing with it. You can disagree with it morally, and that's fine. But the law is the law. Just like if you carry a loaded magazine, you'll be charged with carrying a loaded gun. I morally disagree with that law, but it's the law, and a judge will stick you with carrying a loaded firearm, just because you left a loaded magazine in your truck after hunting.

The word "improved" is open to interpretation ! Just goes to show, how 10 people bashed me, when indeed there is room in the law for legit trespass. I'm going hunting. Cya !
-
Do what any lawyer would do. Cite the section of law you are referring too. Ticket Dismissed !!
-
I'm telling you, I remember this from my hunter safety class 35 years ago. It's 100% legal trespassing, under certain conditions. The trespass ticket would NOT hold up in court. The posting laws must be adhered to as well. They are very specific. You can't just bang up a blank sign. That's worthless.

Is this because of the casino ?

Certainly true now. Wasn't true 20 years ago.

I actually ate a road kill from RT302. The guy in front of me hit a deer. I stopped, and waited for the cop. Asked for a road kill tag. The cop shot the deer twice, gave me a tag. and I drove to the butcher. The driver was happy the deer didn't go to waste. I almost hit 2 deer there opening weekend. Certainly a good place to hunt if you can find land.

I'm sure there are gangs in Middletown. I can't believe what happened to it. I used to like hanging out there. OC fair. I went into Boston Market. The line was at least 1/2 hr... and just not moving. It's not like the upstate that I knew growing up. Drive North on 302. Not as far as RT52. West side of the road, corner property. I have seen deer in this pasture often. Always later in the day. The deer don't seemed bothered by the road noise. They don't even look up a passing car. and I have seen more than 1 deer car crash in this area. That area is loaded with deer.

When did I say that? I said I was going to ring the guys bell. Never mind. Not worth it..
-
What if, by accident, you left 1 bullet in a magazine. You were tired after hunting, you forgot to remove ammo from a mag. You'd be arrested for carrying a loaded gun. and your life is ruined..
-
That way my original intentions. .. Never got out of my truck... Out west, people find hunting land by ringing bells. Very very common. It's done all the time.

Rule #1. Never let anyone search your vehicle. He is NOT looking for something GOOD. He is looking for something bad, to bust you on. Plain & simple. His goal is to bust you. You didn't get a certificate of good behavior for the stop. You didn't get an award you can hang on the wall for following all the rules. He is not looking for something to compliment you on. He is looking to write tickets, and enforce every trivial law. Rule #2. take off all orange & camo when driving home. No need to be stopped unnecessarily. He might have been nice, but had you had a deer, the 10 questions would have been 100 questions.
-
Even so, there is a way to be nice & courteous, and a way to be a nasty This guy was just a nasty I'm gathering he has no clue about hunting season, no clue about deer. He just lives on a deer infested property on a main road.

They stop everyone going over the bridge. Not sure for what... probably the 3 point rule.
