Why is it whenever I sit, I see mostly Doe's? The sex ratio is so skewed. Every 20 deer I see, maybe 1 has horns...

That chart is the mid-west. NY has no such chart. I haven't gone out yet.... as I only want prime fur. I may wait until Dec 1. I think fur is determined on day light hours, and not outside temperature. But I'm not a wildlife biologist

Trapping season opened up. But from experience last year, I don't think November is prime season for Raccoon's. What has been your experience ? I know a lot of the mid west guys wait until December..

I just looked. I have 2 archery / muzz tags. 1 says either sex. The other says antlerless... I think they were $15 each tag.

They used to drag the deer / bear out for you. Do they still do that ?

You can ban deer & ATV's too. Then all the illegal deer & ATV's will be criminals, but the accidents will still happen. It's sad, very sad. But there is no correlation. I was once hunting, sitting down on a log. I hear something running towards me. Real fast. I turn around, and a deer is running full speed at me, and literally jumped over my head. Couldn't have been more than 5' over my head. He could have easily put a hoof through me, or seriously injured me. I was lucky. Anything can happen any time.... A guy 5 days older than me.. went to high school together. I just saw him last week. He dropped dead of a massive heart attach......

On a hot sunny day, with hot exhaust, I wouldn't use the hitch platform. Last time, I used a 6' long plastic Christmas tree tote. It was a smoking hot day. I had it in my suburban loaded with ice. If the ticks bail, they land in the plastic tote.

I had to buy the crank. No way in hell I could string cock a crossbow. I'm 55yo. Already had shoulder surgery. No way I was risking another ripped shoulder.

I have a tag that says bow/muzzle. I guess this suffices for crossbow ?

I just had this same discussion. Field & Stream on Long Island has pallet loads of bait. Do you really think someone on Long Island is driving to PA to bait deer? It's totally ridiculous.

I just saw 3 doe. Running along side the road. Spooked as hell. 2 were the usual brown. 1 was grey. I mean a serious grey coat. Very unique. I never seen a grey deer before. Too bad my cam only is B&W at night. I know he's on my property at night time. I hope to see her again.

Fuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkk. My 2 very mature Apple trees look worse than that. I have no idea what wrongs with it. All of the bottom branches are dead Is there a list of steps I need to take? The deer still visit looking for apples....

The Northern Canadians are appreciative of us hunters going up to reduce their black bear population. So many people thanked us. #1) Northern Canadians eat Moose, and bears kill a lot of Moose Calves. #2) Northern Canadians do not hunt bear, they do not eat bear. I have no idea why. #3) They know we drop a lot of money along the way. It's a win win for everyone... even if it is over bait.

I somewhat agree. But the odds of getting a NY bear are dumb luck. Baiting is not a guarantee either. My buddy sat 8 hrs in a stand over bait, before the bear hit the bait. I couldn't sit for 8 hours. I sat for 30 minutes, bang. Got my bear.

Are members successful during deer season? I hunt 3J, and usually get nothing.

You think they are 500lbs. But they are truly much smaller. When I got my 1st bear, I thought it was a monster. I was pumped, until I found it, it was 130 lbs. The guide told me black bears are very difficult to judge from the stand.
