Well I figured i don't hunt from a bench so knowing what I can shoot from with what I'm going to hunt with which is shooting sticks or off hand is more important to me .then knowing what the true acuracy is under ideal conditions . I only bring my scoped rifles to the range. Never botherd with the shotgun . I bring a shotgun to a range I'm shooting trap or skeet .:) I don't hunt places that you can see far anyway with the shotgun. And like growalot says the deer don't seem to mind

You are 100% correct ask you selfs this all the guys here hunt shoot much more then most people I go out in public lands hunting sometimes in places with 100 hunters in a few hundred acres guns up the ass everywhere nobody ever gets shot killed nothing like that the stats show most likely dealth of a hunter is heart attack. Just to prove a point that just because there are more guns around does not mean you will have more gun violence or dealths if that was true there would be a lot more shot hunters then there are each year during hunting season. It's gang vilance that's the real problem in this country.

I never have taken my shotgun to a proper range to test slugs but just playing around in the woods using just iron sites and shooting sticks I can have the 3inch sluggers do about 4 to 5 inch groups at 75 yards at 50 yards I can chop small trees with them at 100 I can hit a 8 or 9 inch plate size target all day . If i scoped it and shot off a real bench rest and not just my shooting sticks those groups would shrink I'm sure . I know there are guys getting 3" 4" groups at 100 yards with slugs ,smoothbores that are scoped shooting on a bench rest .
