  1. Whistle pig, wild turkey or makers 46 Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. I'm down in Tallahassee for a wedding. So far I am not impressed with the food. Last night was the wedding and it was a basic veggies, mashed potatoes and beef brisket. Then they had 3 different types of cakes (vanilla, red velvet and chocolate). The brisket was Good..... the rest I wasn't impressed. It was actually held in Georgia. All I could think about was where I would set up a tree stand The night before that was the rehearsal dinner they had collard greens, macaroni and cheese, a dish with shrimp, potatoes, sausage and corn on cob and fried chicken Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. They have been giving the deer birth control a town over from me for the last few years. If I recall correctly it was something like 2k per each application and the application only lasts 2 seasons and it won't take effect for an entire year after its given to the deer. They are also tagging each deer that they give birth control to. Apparently they did a count of them last year and noticed one went missing. Usually road kill will get reported back and they can check tags. One of the deer just went missing. They think something ate it and left no evidence. I, for one, would like to save the tax payers money and hunt these deer. But the town doesn't allow it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. You might need to kill any deer that tries to eat them. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  5. Found some deer! I decided to slow walk around the woods to collect a camera and a stand to bring in for the season. I strongly considered sitting in the aforementioned stand today UT decided against it. As I walked out of the thick where the camera was and started up towards the stand I see a 4 white flags running away from me right where the stand is! Ugh. I'm posted here now to see if they come back Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  6. Heard the first shot already. Amazing the difference the weather can make . Yesterday rainy and foggy with low amounts of shots and nothing early. And today being cool and calm Let's hope a buck crosses my path Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  7. Saw my first deer for the day..... it was bedded down next to my stand. Now it's gone..... duh Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  8. Just had 2 turkeys come by and scratch around at 10 yards for like 10 minutes. They decided to leave and head towards@chefhunter86 stand Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  9. Just bumped 2 does from my afternoon stand on way in Hope they bring their boyfriends back Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  10. Usually the donkeys sound off in the morning which then leads the yotes to bark and then the rooster crows and more wild life comes out. Well the dogs just barked. Hopefully that means the woods are waking up.... come here bucky buck Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. Live from the woods. Can't see shit. So dark right now. Hopefully that means they will be moving during the day Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. Checked the camera by my stand on the way out. Some does and a 4 point buck seem to be showing up around 3. Let's hope today they bring uncle 8 pointer Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. Had a pleasant surprise to something that had me worried. I was hearing some noise right up the hill from my stand. I thought it could have been turkey call or a small pocket knife sawing. Then it stopped and I heard what sounded like a crash. I'm thinking oh great someone is sitting right on top of me.... Then I noticed turkeys flying down. It was a relief. 14. I'll be sitting same spot I left off during bow season. Saw plenty of deer just outside of bow range or just inside some thick stuff that the arrow wouldn't fly thru. A bullet should make it right thru that thick. I found a real fresh and really big rub a couple hundred yards up the hill . So hopefully the buck decides there is too much pressure up there and comes down to me. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. Cold, calm and quiet except for woody the wood pecker going crazy on a tree Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. Last sit until gun. Hoping to catch them walking into the thick stuff this morning. Last night they just wouldn't come out Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. There were 3 does that got within 10 yards of me but we're behind really thick stuff. I heard some leaves crunching and watched the 3 does. One of them peed and then they all sprinted off. Then another doe came in from where the crunching was coming from followed by a big 6. I tried bleating to get him in. But he was hot on her tail and kept his distance. But this spot seems good! 18. 2 does hanging out in thick stuff around 20 yards away. Close enough so I can see them too far to get clean shot Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. Cold and windy with no sign of deer. I heard footsteps about 1 hour before light but that was it Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. About to leave the house. It's very refreshing out there! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. Found a nice fresh rub last weekend so moved my stand to this spot. Not many shooting lanes. Most of them less than 20 yards. But on one side is thick growth and a rub and on the other side is open tall grass area and a clearing with pines around it. Hopefully some thing makes the wrong move Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  22. Finishing cleaning up my place then heading to camp. Need to stop first at get some oil and a filter so I can change my oil later this weekend. Looks like wind in forecast for tonight. I'm going to give it a good olde college try and see what happens. Maybe the deer don't care about the wind today.... hopefully@chefhunter86 can get out of work earlier and join me in the woods Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
