All: quick question but don’t want to start a new thread. My dad is coming to hunt with me next Thursday the 8th through Monday the 13th. Is this going to be too late for rut activity? Came home from work to a great surprise. The tractor is in the corn field that I believe shelters all my deer. Going to relax tonight because of rain and tomorrow morning because of an early work obligation. Starting tomorrow night it’s game on all the way through the weekend. Not sure how many days it will take for them to cut, but they are cutting in this freezing rain... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let me start this comment with an UGH! I got up in the stand at 6:30 for a quick sit before work. Nice, quiet entry. Dabbed a little Doe smell good on the bottom of my pant legs. Started watching the clock as 7:45 was supposed to be as late as I should sit. At 7:50 I slowly started to wrap up. Put arrow in quiver and lowered bow. Took safety strap off. Climbed down ladder stick. Untied bow and reset bow tow line. Paused for a few seconds to listen. And Boom! 20 feet from me a buck didn’t like what he saw and took a few hard hard leaps out of view. A held my position and a few seconds later he let out two blows. I slowly knocked an arrow so I didn’t get attacked coming out of woods. Walked up to the house and got ready for work. Moral of the story: I hate when work gets in the way of my hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saw a small buck about 8am in 7J. Between cameras and in stand I have seen around what I believe to be 7 or 8 different bucks. All under 6 pts. AND I have yet to see a Doe, not even on camera. Not even sure what is holding the bucks here. Unfortunately as it gets closer to Nov 17, one of these little guys is going to become freezer filler. Well I’m up. Decided to take the climber out. After crunching through the leaves. I made a racket. Fought with the safety strap that kept falling to stand as I pushed it up to climb.
