  1. Couple that might be big boys next year... Proof that they can't all be winners...
  2. Another shooter 10 showed up. Looks pretty young like a 3.5 year old with lots of potential...
  3. Wasn't sure if I'd ever see this buck again... Looks kinda front heavy!!!
  4. Dang, the old turkey slayer can put a hurting on the deer too. Congrats!!!
  5. That's a beauty. Congrats to your friend!
  6. The knockoffs work great. Both does were taken with them. I'll most likely be hunting with them next year too.
  7. That's strange? I've been using the hypos for the past three season now with no issues at all...10 shots =9 dead deer / 1 gobbler.
  8. My wife and I braved the elements tonight and headed to a friends farm. As we arrived to the stands there was already a nice buck and two does in the field and we ended up bumping them back into the brush. Around 4:45 I looked up and saw this guy standing in a clearing on the neighbors about 100 yds away. Unfortunately, he was directly downwind and knew something was up. It was nice to see him on the hoof, what a beautiful deer...a real stud for a 3.5 year old.
  9. There are some pretty nice bucks here, I hope my dad gets a crack at one of them saturday morning...
  10. On a related note, this deer looks very mature and I believe that I may have had an encounter with him in Nov. 2013 at this spot...
  11. I posted a thread recently about a droptined buck that I got on camera on halloween... I checked this cam again today and was shocked to discover another one!!! My treestand is in the big tree in the top right hand corner. I almost sat here monday morning too...
  12. I have no history with the buck as it was my first time hunting this property for deer. I would guess he was 4.5, I have his jaws still and may sent the incisors out to be aged. As for the meat, I quartered / boned out the meat and let it sit in the fridge for a few days. So far, it hasn't been too tough at all.
  13. I wouldn't mind doing a few a year. It was fun tearing the deer down and then recreating it.
  14. The form is from Ohio taxidermy supply...semi sneak with a right turn. I went with right because that the pose he was in when I shot him. It also shows off my favorite feature of the rack, the forked g2 on the left antler. Gotta do some rearranging and put him on a different wall. Also, congrats on your buck...the Avoca- Wheeler area produces some monsters. My buck also came from 8P.
  15. Still needs some airbrushing in spots...
  16. Sure did. I've butchered every deer that I've ever killed.
  17. The cape was wet tanned in house which takes about 4 days to pickle-neutralize-tan. The actual mounting process after the cape was prepared only took about 2.5 hours.
  18. About $125, but he had all of the equipment and chemicals...
  19. Especially with such a narrow spread!!!
