  1. Tried it a couple of years ago but it made little difference.
  2. The funny thing is there is very little QDM efforts practiced in this area either...
  3. The problem is that a majority of my buck pics are during the night and I can only hunt the field edges which doesn't help in killing one of them. I probably won't even hunt this farm until late muzzleloader and will focus my efforts on the neighboring property across the road. There are some good ones over there too but the property owner doesn't like trailcams in his woods...
  4. It's my best spot...locate along a goldenrod filled ditchline in an open field. The problem is that most of my pics are right before sun up and the early morning condensation kills me if there is any humidity in the air. It's ruined my pics for years at this set. Also, the cam that I'm using is a 2015 Black 60 on low flash setting...
  5. Also had this awesome little droptine buck show up. I've seen him several times over the past few weeks in another nice bachelor group on a neighboring farm about a mile and a half away. I sure hope he sticks around and makes it through a few seasons. Based on his petite/leggy body frame he appears to be a yearling with giant potential!!!
  6. I decided to post a few of my betters pics from my last card pulls... Bachelor party: Few singles: New buck on upper end of the farm:
  7. Here is what the DEC had to say when I emailed them about this topic last spring after I found a big deadhead buck while shed hunting... The DEC's answer: From: Dispatch Central [[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2014 9:21 AM To: Underhill, Jason Subject: Re: deer carcass Yes. There are no prohibitions regarding taking the skull and antlers, but the possession of a freshly killed deer head may lead an ECO to initiate an investigation until the facts could be determined. If in doubt, contact your local ECO. 8. The small point on the last buck is out at the tip of the beam...not close to the G3 = two different deer
  9. Two different bucks. The spacing of the G2 & G3 tines on the right antler of the buck in the first set of pics is much closer together than on the buck in the second set.
  10. As you can plainly see, the buck on the left is a two year old...the one on the right has much more mass and is at least 1-2 years older.
  11. Nice buck...but NOT the same deer that you posted earlier.
  12. Had a few more good pics of these bucks on a new camera set in the adjoining cloverfield...
  13. Thanks. They are all young deer too. Honestly, I may hunt this farm a couple of times with a bow and a few during late gun/muzz and that's it. I will focus my efforts on the neighboring property about a half mile up the road, there are some really bucks here too and there is a much better change of catching them on their feet during legal shooting hours.
  14. No secret. This particular camera setup is just a killer spot, just as some stands are top producers every year. The trailcam is mounted to a two piece, telescoping mount that I bought off ebay several years ago. The base augers down into the ground and the top piece locks to it. It's set on a ditch line with no trees around, there is a standing cornfield on the other side. Most off my pics are from just prior to dawn as the deer funnel to this corner to go up a logging road that leads to the bedding area. Unfortunately, the tree line that you see is also the property line so I can only hunt the field edge. Thus, I've pretty much given up on hunting this spot, but I love watching the deer here.
  15. The oldest deer that I posted is four years old, the others are all two and three year olds that are still a couple of years away from maturity.
  16. No, all I have is an old crappy old Sony Handicam. I would love to get a nice DSLR sometime though...
  17. Nice two year old that appears to have jammed a stick or something into his right mainbeam... Back in January... I'm not sure who this tall tined 8-pt is. He looks to be a really nice two year old or possibly a three year old (I leaning towards three)...
  18. This buck was a awesome 2 year old six point last year. He showed back up post season around x-mas but had apparently been shot and already shed his antlers... I wasn't certain that he had survived the brutal winter until I spotted him one time in early summer. Well, he's alive and well and not looking too bad. You can see the scar above his shoulder...
  19. The deer were on their feet this morning... I had this 4 year old that I call "Wannabe" stop by just prior to sun up. His tines are still bulby on the tips and it appears that he is trying to add small G4's... A short time later the rest of the boys showed up. I've been hoping to get pics of several of these bucks since first spotting them out in this field a month ago...
