Doc that is what I should of said, since the background check is delayed, why can't he still purchase mail order ammo? And Culvercreek my friend and I are both in our late 30's . Our dad's had us learning gun safety and shooting by the time we were 8-9 yrs old. Started hunting as soon as we were able to get our safety course certificates I'd say around 12, I think. No I have not read all of the safe act and I know I should but I sure do know who I am not voting for come Nov. and so does everyone in my house and family.

I have a friend who has been purchasing ammo online from cabelas for a while now. Yesterday he tried to get 2 boxes of rifle ammo and when he ordered it they said that they can't ship to his zip code, which is in Long Island, NY. He took a ride to a local gun shop and had no problems there getting it . Does anybody know of any place that still mails ammo to Long Island, just curious.

I've seen one that used 5 pallets. 2 in the front 1 on either side and 1 in the back to cover you a little . Then 4 2x4s one in each corner and something for the roof. Real easy

It's in a dry basement with no a/c never had moisture problems. That golden rod do you have to plug into an outlet and keep it plugged in while in the safe? If so there is no hole in the safe to run the cord out to an outlet. I will also check out the the damprid and the silica containers.
-
What do you guys use to keep moisture out so your safes. We have a Remington that you plug into an outlet to recharge but I can see the moisture in the little window when it's been plugged in for a few hours, and it gets really hot to the touch. We also have a bag one that you recharge in the oven but that doesn't tell you if it's all dried out. Any other things you guys can recommend? And we have never had any problems with rust on anything so it's more of a piece of mind thing and a just in case thing. Thanks

Replies like yours makes me wonder how sites like these survived . If everyone on here searched the net for their answers instead of asking it here this site and many others would not be around. Just trying to see what local weathermen are saying that's all. Thanks for nothing.

What's the weather forecast up there this weekend? Was planning on going up for one last shot and been hearing mixed things from people about a foot or more up there. What's the news forecasting, any help would be appreciated. Good luck everyone. Joe

Nice going pointman. What's the weather like this weekend up there trying to get back up ? My buddy shot a 7 at 215 opening day, I saw a spike Sunday morning and that's it for 5 guys. Hope it was the moon and temps that kept them from moving last weekend .

May have a buddy who wants it ill find out. Where are you located first?

Googled it before and read that it's very intrusive and everyone was trying to get rid of it .Dont wanna intro anything that's not native either. Thanks G-Man I'll look into the vetch.
-
Thanks I will look into it. We can't hunt that piece of property anyway too steep and has a river at the bottom of it.
-
We have a hillside/ cliff behind house we stay at. Its starting to slope more and more and is less steep. I was wondering is the any type of seed I can broadcast from the top and is fast growing to stabilize the soil and hillside? It will never be a huntable piece of property, so I really don't care if it's evasive. Thanks

I am sorry single shot you are right no one should tell you what to do.I should of suggested that if you don't belong its a good time to join now. And i didnt say anything about being a better person because i am a member and you arent. But what are you gonna do when the government tells you that you can't owe that gun anymore and forfeit it over? Or hey that gun that was your fathers that you wanna pass down to your child, you can't, we want that one too. Are you gonna tell them, when somebody tells me to do something I usually don't so I am not giving you my guns? Alls I no is I or anyone that I no who hunts and shoots can't spend all our time trying to defend our 2nd amendment 24/7. This is just a way, besides writing letters to your elected officials, to make a donation to one of the organizations that do fight and care about your right to bear arms. Again sorry to offend you, Joe. -

I have to say we had a great 2 days of hunting. We almost didn't make it due to sandy . We work in the utility field in the city and been on 12 hour days 7 days a week due to sandy. We were lucky enough to plan our vacation time for the first week of deer season last year so we were able to take off. Between 4 people we had 2 doe opening day mine and my buddy's dads and my buddy shot an 8 on Sunday out of the stand I shot the doe from. Then back to work on Monday. Hope to get out one day at least for muzzy.

Hey to bad I just read this post I could of pointed you to a few good places to hunt there. I lived there and hunted that piece of land for 8 yrs,it was my backyard. Took some real nice deer off that 11000 acres and saw some of the biggest racked bucks in my life there. There are some hugh bear there also. What I have seen happen there is that the deer head right into the communities as the hunting pressure gets going. You need to be on the out skirts of those communities as the pressure lessens after the first week. The deer start to go back to there habits and start to come out of the communities,I have shot all my deer this way. Just gotta wait till the deer passes you and you can shoot it as it is heading into the woods and the house are nowhere in your line of fire. That's the nerve racking part but it's worth it.

TC Omega using TC Shockwaves and two 777 pellets
-
Its the second load that gets a little tight. At the range I run a patch after every shot,no problem loading there. It's the reloading after you shoot a deer. Even if I see that it's down and not moving I always reload before going over to the deer. I been using TC shockwaves and they have always be tough to load after the first shot but they are accurate and didn't need to try anything else.
