  1. Maybe you should of just kept that last comment about the hobby to yourself. I thought the whole reason for this site is to learn, ask questions and get useful info. I asked a question and said what happened to me and I get a half ass comment about getting a new hobby. Anyone who has loaded a muzzleloader would absolutely love to find a less strenuous way to load it, especially reloading in the field. If you can't keep your asinine comments to yourself I don't want to hear anything you have to say.
  2. I have owed and used a mzl for the past 5-6years. I always put the powder in then seat the bullet into the sabot and proceed with the loading. My question is does anyone drop the sabot down the barrel first then drop the bullet and seat it into the sabot? The other day i was at the range and this happened,it was a pleasure not to use any force to load the gun. Checked the rod saw the bullet was down all the way and fired. All was ok but the next time I loaded it I did it the way I always did. Just would be alot nicer to not use any force to load it.
  3. I suggest writing a letter to the NRA, I don't know if it's gonna do anything but I did. This a-hole of a mayor shouldn't be able to do this to people that are trying to play by the rules. It costs a small fortune to get a permit in the city and to renew it every year and then get told the guns you had for years are illegal, bite me. What's next, got to modify your guns to shoot rubber bullets.
  4. A buddy's father who has had his guns registered for years with nypd received a letter the other day. It stated if he had any guns that held 5 or more shells must be sold ,brought into the nypd or destroyed and proof that they were either of the above. Has anyone else that lives in the city heard of this crap going on? What a joke this city has become! Just let the criminals take it over.
  5. Big bear in stamford on rt23 don't know if they will do,it look them up and call. Also might be to far from you.
  6. Anybody have one and any good recipes to share?
  7. On the island look up fins to feathers taxidermy he is in farming dale. But with this warm weather we are going to have you will probably need to find someone where you hunt. Try asking at local shops up there if they know of a butcher.
  8. One week of early doe only muzzleloader in late October or first week of November let's see what complaining we here then.PA has been doing it the past 4 years and bow hunters howled but they quieted down now!
  9. That non typical comment in my post was for biz-r-oworld .
  10. Back when I lived in PA I had thousands of acres of state forest as my backyard. Every year at least once some times twice a year we would see deer in the back with arrows sticking out of them, totally disgusting and down right horrible for the animal. These deer would travel right into the community from that state land. That doesn't paint a good picture to what we called up there citiots who see this especially when they are antis up for the weekend with there families. "Hey mommy that deer has a stick on it". No thats a 30" arrow sticking out of its ass or back .You shouldn't be hunting with a weapon you aren't comfortable with or haven't practice with. Especially with a bow,you should be shooting that thing all year long in all different positions and from stands. Also educate yourself on how deer react to hearing that string being released, you can watch any deer show on tv to see that. And NY hunter did see a lot of screwed up racks or "non typicals"as you called them.lol
  11. I bought one at gander mountain 2 years ago for 700 and its a great gun.It shoots 23/4 skeet loads to 31/2 goose loads without any problems.Last year was duck hunting in a kayak in 25 mile an hour winds and when I say that gun got soaked with salt water,It got water down the barrel,in they action it was drenched.Took it apart a few days later and not one spot of rust and not one problem with the action.Hope you scoop it up.

    Need help

Going up to hunt saturday either in greene or ulster, depending where my brother wants to hunt since he has access to 2 properties. The problem is that the butcher he uses isnt gonna be around to do any deer and if we get a deer we need a butcher.Who knows of a butcher below exit 20 off the thruway.Name, phone # and address would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  16. Also you have to consider the area you are going to be hunting in,swamp area, open field, hardwoods, ect. All that comes into play.Go to a gunsmith or to a good sporting goods store and ask questions and tell them what terraine you are going to be hunting in and what you want to hunt and go from there.Good luck
  17. Hey everyone new to the site so hello.I learned that on the last day I hunt to take off the bottom section of my ladderstand so my friend can't go up 2 days later and shoot the only buck that was seen out of it in 7 days.Lol
