It's sounds like someone has sour grapes because I questioned him on the 36 inch spread he saw in Westchester, the 50 inch spread he saw on the taconic (whitetails not moose), your post on how "bucks NEVER travel more then 300 acres further then there birthplace" or the fact that today alone on the ohter site you had 2 posts and 2 threads removed thru me and another moderator at the site adminstrators request. Geez it's only post 4-5 for you and you've already called me an - in this post and tried to make me look silly in your 2-3 post "by the way guys strapper got some ideas for you for the orange ...strapper post ur pic of that stupid outfit" PS you failed to mention that I offered to take you and your boy muzzy hunting last year and also offered to take you both turkey hunting this spring. PPS Welcome to the site Mr. Cranky Pants.

Yikes! Max I'm just sticking up for the guys that make their living off of THEIR land (by the way I'm not a farmer) and if me putting another persons livliehood over my own recreational needs makes me egotistical, then brother I am dam proud to be egotistical.

HAHAHAHAH Wes, check out page 23 or 24 it's already there buddy! Nice try but by now you should know I'm the first one that will laugh at and poke fun of himself. Wes, glad to see you changed your verbage from there WILL be to there MIGHT be. Also just saw your very very late post- "I want to shut a few mouths that called me a liar as well as doubted me... this is the stats on DEC prosecution of violators through out New York for 2010 ... I will not post on here but if you private message me I will send. But you can not post it once you receive it. I paid for it and I have a right to keep it. Do not post !!!! hahaha I see that whining, being a cranky pants, and a reducing your flare for drama wasn't a new years resolution. -

WOUldn't hats with strob lights be safer then orange? -
I'm thinking that string tracker gizmo they were selling back a few years ago would help me find my arrows plus at 100 yards I would need a scope not a peep sight and a 3D elephant!

that vid is funny, first shot back to the right in the liver 2nd shot high just nipping a vital, third shot is a great shot. Hope that guy has patient deer that will give him three shots, haha

A 60-70 yard shot at a mullie, goat, etc....on a cliff or in a field with a 70-80 pound newer bow and a hunter that practices year round is a ethical shot. A 25 yard quartering too shot in thick brush by anyone is an unethical shot. Range ain regards to ethics depends on the shooter, the equipment, the terrain etc... Just because you have done it doesn't make it wrong.

If that's the case I would ventire they could shoot 3,4, 500 yards iof aimed up at the sky. -
...you didn;t mention your opinion on the 100 yard shot. Out west with high poundage they are putting it out 60-70, but 100 yards as the norm, not agreeing with that one. Waht say you Culver ;D

DEC “TIPP” PROGRAM GOES ONLINE
backstrapper replied to HuntingNY's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
Great way to waste the DEC time and money, both of which they have a shotage off!. If you kick a trespassoring (or 2,3,4) off of private land what's to prevent them from Anonymously accusing you of baiting, hunting at night, or whatever. Now the DEC will be out chasing their own tails due to sour grapes when they could be after real bad guys. I'm nop lawyer but I seem to remember as a US citizens isn't it our Const. right to question our accusors? We all say we are against poaching then we should man up and speak up, not hide. Just my opinion. -
During a debate on Blaze Orange someone posted they would bet both bows and compounds are accurate out to 100 yards. To be fair let me ask it this way: How many guys here would take a shot on any deer with a cross bow or bow. (please respond with personal experience not what you've read or seen on tv) at 100 yards? How about 70 yards? How about 50yards? What's your comfort zone? Me personally- 3 years ago I was confident at 50 (longest bow kill is 28-30) but since hurting my back my limit is 40

backstrapper replied to TheHunter's topic in General Hunting
I am betting 100 yards plus for either one. I'll take that bet and give you 100 to 1 odds. I'll start a thread asking how many guys are accurate out to 100 yards and we'll see how many guys are full of crap. I'm not the most experienced bow hunter but all of my kills (about 25-30) with the bow have been within 30 yards. PS the 100 yard three is in general and call bow yardage -
When actual " Nuisance" permits are given, there is nothing that says they cant be used during regular season. each permit is different, they are to be used at the time of damage, which might mean april or it may mean november This is not accurate at all! word for word from one of the four permits I hunt on. PERMIT EXPIRES 9/30/2010. PS the letter head is DEC from the dec site "Permits generally are NOT available during an open deer hunting season" so there are exceptions during the regular season but they are the exception! Max WHy ask us why not talk to the landowner? Seems like he might have some more insight into his own land, how it is managed, who hunts it etc.. then a bunch of strangers. Just saying. Some of the posters need to get off their elitist high horses! It is about the landowners livliehood, period! It has nothing to do with your, our, my passion/luxury/recreation we call hunting. THey farm for a living we hunt for fun ( add all your costs, buying it is cheaper fella's no matter what you tell your wives or your selves). If it kills the heard in the area that sucks but oh well, we hunt for fun, challenge, memories, etc... they farm for life!! So let's stop being arrogant and egocentric by putting your fun over their source of income! PS some people abuse it, oh well, some people abuse hunting but that doesn;t mean ban it for all. To simplify- Farmer- dead deer equals better living more money pays mortgage. Hunter- for fun!!!!!

Don't forget your flares, global tracking beacon, survival blanket and tent, global cell phone, water purifying pills, first aid kit, saw, etc.... I hear 99% of hutners that got lost wouldn't have if they had the above. HAHA PS oh yeah, and your orange. If people misplace other hunters as deer you may look like a yote to them as well. It's apparently hard for some poeple to distinguish between a upward walking two legged animal and a bent over four legged animal.
