Yes, they opened it year round statewide for “trophy” (over 20”) this year, but we got to wait until June 15 before we can keep (5) over 12” on most waters.

I caught my first “legal” of the year just minutes ago (20-1/2” long) on a 1/8 oz bucktail jig.  I turned her loose because I am looking for a 22” to mount.

    1st I've heard about this over 20" rule.. ?

Fairly certain St Lawrence and Jefferson County don't allow you to target bass out of season still..

In his comments, Escalon said that the suspect, "EVIL IDIOT " shot his grandmother and then wrecked his truck in a ditch outside the school at 11:28 a.m.

This..  I think people who do this sort of thing should dissappear.. Name never publicly mentioned again.

I realize it would be difficult and would require some sort of stupid law and a certain amount of voluntary cooperation within social networking platforms.

These people just want to matter. In the past many just ended their own lives, now its a great way to be remembered for something, forever.

No new gun laws are going to make any significant impact. It's a societal problem . One way or the other if someone decides to do something terrible like this it's going to happen, whether they shoot, blow up, run over etc.. their victims

    No pics?!??

    :)

Doesnt look like much in the pictures...And I brought home the tools. Next time I'm doing it myself..... maybe...lol..

If nothing else they work great to remove those deep hooks in fish once in a while. I already have one pair in the boat..

Especially those aggressive crappie. I can't fit my hand in there and they will have the hook where I cannot get it otherwise.

I'd tannerite those timbers within 10 minutes of leaving the ER!   That'll teach em!  lol

Good luck at the ER.  Weve all visited there for brilliant reasons thru the years im sure.   My last trip was for stitches in my thumb from cutting a bar of soap.  Genius level stuff there.

Lol. I like the tannerite idea. Not sure if my customer will.. ;)

  5. Finally..  I'm outta here as soon as the finish paperwork. 20 stitches another tetiniis? shot and good to go.

As annoying as it is to wait.  It would be a lot worse if it was actually an emergency or I felt really sick . Small town hospital and there was atleast 15-20 people waiting at any time.

Last time I was here it was because my dad had a stroke and in the same amount of time I waited this time he was already being treated in Syracuse(150 miles away) after being airlifted out..

At least it sounds like you have a good attitude about it!

Yeah. Just a flesh wound as they say. Initial reaction when I get hurt is anger,(I cannot successfully beat up land scapeing to get even)then feeling pretty foolish for being careless.. Thanks to a smartphone  I have something to do while waiting. There are not any magazines to read.

Ugh, waiting is the worst part! Heal up quick!

I hear ya, except for one other time I've been lucky and have managed to avoid them. I'm usually a gauze and electrical tape guy, but this is beyond electrical tape help . I have a sock and 10' of duct tape on it now..lol

  8. Well. I was careless and accidently kicked with a downward slashing motion a sharp corner of some landscape timbers with my shin...;(

It was immediately obvious that it was going to require stitches by the blood trail I was leaving. I've tracked and found deer that left less blood .

Good thing it's nothing serious,  I've been in the ER waiting room for 2 hrs so far.

To get the cover off the bass boat! And start getting ready to get her in the water. Was thinking of doing a couple tournaments this year? But with the price of premium gas, will probably stick close to home and fish the Mohawk. May go up as far as Saratoga Lake.

Great idea!!  I'm off this afternoon  as well. I get to camp and dang!  my batteries are dead in the boat.oh , well I guess I have to drink a beer 0r 2 or 3 while I wait for it to charge up for a bit.. lol.

Again if difficulty is going to be the bar to set season length to. We should push back compound 2 weeks and let the traditional guys have some time to themselves in the woods also. This is also just my opinion to the conversation that was had last year, this year and probably again next year.

. I would have no problems with that..

Lol. Yeah I think the horse is dead.

I'm out for now. I'm going to push the boat off the dock and see if the crappie are biting.

Do you mean to stop progression of the sport or stop whining when proposed law changes that would add more hunter to the archery season.

No whining here.. Just my opinion, it will not affect me at all. To be fair ,from my perspective, sounds like whining coming from your "side" .;)

I will continue to hunt with my compound as well as crossbow at times.

I don't care if I can use a howitzer or a stick I'm going to hunt ..lol

same here. absolutely not for youth though. give it to the youth and that's where the bow will die.

    Will not matter.. Imo..

Once crossbows are fully included (just a matter of time) ..

20 years from now less than 10% of "archers" will hunt with compounds or traditional archery gear.

Checked with 2 docs , both said no treatment needed due to time on me

If you are feeling any symptoms  you should go to the doctor regardless.

The time line isn't 100%. My girlfriend a few years back had a tick buried in her for less than 24 hrs(most likely less than 12). She ended up with Lyme.

The mental part of that I think someone’s going to mess up if they can’t hold it together no matter the weapon. Sight alignment, trigger control and breath control all matter the same with any weapon that has sights and a trigger.

    Lol. You would think.

I , admittedly,  am not the best archer(with a compound ) I have yet to be able to calm my excitement enough to be any where near as good as I am standing in the yard. I can shoot the $%^ out of a target in the yard. For me a crossbow just blends in with my firearm habits.  I can calm myself down with close to 100 % kill rate.

Too much so, in fact, it is no where near as much fun as when I'm bowhunting. After clearing my head of all the excitement it never really settles back in again.

So, I’ve checked the wheeler every night this week. Fires right up on the first try. Could the problem, whatever it was, have fixed itself just by getting it to fire up with the starter spray the first time?

    Did you hit the carb?

And yes , I've seen it before when the fuel lines became empty from sitting .  Machine couldn't pick up prime for some reason and after firing a few times she's good to go.

To me it’s kinda like the crossbow already got the Trophy because of the best two weeks of the season.. But the young and the old getting full shot would not be such a bad thing in this state.

100% agree, and anyone with a doctor's slip... Heck, I'm strong like bull, but because I'm dumb like pig, I'm not sure how long my shoulders will last..;)

now see we could have had a discussion here but you ended it with an insult. So who is really calling the kettle black?

The point came up about crossbows being a law that wouldn't affect me, so I shouldn't care. I brought up an analogy how some of those people seem to care an awful lot of about things that don't affect them, in an attempt to point out some hypocrisy. There were 3 or 4 posts about it and it never derailed to an abortion thread, so it was fine.

Us losing members has more to do with no updates and zero involvement from the owner and the 1.5 mods.

Context is everything my friend and wishing harm on someone is something I'll never do, momma raised me right ;)

You can add me to the 6 as well... The whole legalizing crossbows for all season reminds me of giving out trophies to everybody..

And come on with an insult like this..

"Have a great day, may a camel spider crawl up your backside and lay an egg or two."

you gotta give him a pass. I got a serious chuckle..lol

Wanted to give an update. I finally had a chance today to take a look at the wheeler. I sprayed starter fluid into the intake as you guys suggested and it fired right up.
so, my next question is- what was the problem and what, if anything should I do next?

thanks again for all the advice. Saved me a trip to o the mechanic and probably a big bill.

    You are getting closer.

I would pull the gas line going to the bottom of the carburetor. If there is gas there(my guess is there is) then I would pull the bottom float bowl cover and free up the needle valve that the float moves. It is more than like stuck closed.. Sometimes you can get lucky and sharply rap the bottom of the carb with the handle of the screwdriver.;) and free it up..

I'm not specifically familiar with your machine. It may require removing the carburetor in order to access it properly.
