My wife will record it, like she did when I sledged down the silo.  Removing the siding weakens it a lot.  I will wait until I get the rest off, before I try.  If I cant yank it down then with my tractor, I will cut out the diagonal braces.  I am pretty certain that it will drop fairly easy after I do that.

Those old barns seem to want to stand forever.

We had an old barn on the farm .Roughly 36'x 70' and roughly 35' to the peak.

One end had the old wooden silo built into it and the roof was bad on that. After many years you could see that end of the barn was starting to collapse and slowly drag the rest with it.

We decided to cut the 30' off to save the rest. After cutting the roof on a rope with a chainsaw..lol. there was 1 last 10x10 holding the 2 together.

I figured for sure it was going to go down fast and was a"little" scared. Well I finished cutting it loose and the thing just stood there. I was all nervous for nothing. Had to end up pulling it down with a tractor. Among the wood we salvaged were 2 36' long 10x10 ash beams

The left over barn still houses an apartment and shop..

Just ordered a pair of Pyrenees for $29, normally $145. These are my early season Wyoming muley and antelope boots. Already have two pair but couldn't pass up the deal.

Seems too good to be real.?

Not a great sleuth, but a good sceptic..lol

The domain being created 3 days ago makes you wonder.

Still surprised that a partial snap occurred, and had chance to regrow, any pine or spruce I see partial cut usually dies..

Yes, it is pretty unusual.  It's interesting , somewhere in my travels this year while hunting I saw something close to identical only about 10' above the ground . For the life of me I cannot remember where, so I can't go back and take a pic.lol

Had to be very fresh growth not to break and it should show broken leaders on other trees the same age stand  this is only one I see with leader damage

Yeah, most likely happened when that was top of the tree . 1/2 broke off(hinge cut) due to snow and or ice and the new growth continued up and around.

    Now this is very interesting.

Are Ruffed Grouse Toxic? Maybe Sometimes

Ruffed grouse are widely considered one of the more delectable upland game birds. But did you know they might also be poisonous?

Odd as it seems, there is a fairly extensive—and largely forgotten—body of medical literature detailing unfortunate souls who have been poisoned by eating ruffed grouse.

That would be terrible! Grouse is my absolute favorite bird.

Does anyone look/search for GeoCaches in the off season . Our friends in Ft Meyers do it all over the states they drive through . I got a refresher course and we found a few . It's a fun thing to do . Someone hides a cache , puts up the grid coordinates , lists a name for the cache and a possible hint . When you find it , you sign your user name and post that you have found it . Some are easy . Some are very difficult . A fun thing to do in the off season . Beats the heck out of whining on a hunting site !

Yes. We havnt searched for  any in a few years. Actually this was the time of the year that we would often look as a family. Not nice enough to do summer things and not cold enough to do winter things.  We hid a couple that you need a boat to find or retrieve.. only a few people ever found them, being that the lake had very limited access.  Some are really difficult to find. Especially the mini caches. It is amazing the number hidden around the world in plain sight more or less.

Nope most boring job ever can't take differnt route , go thru all the bad areas of cities..

Absolutely worse is dealing with kids riding atvs along tracks..  steel strapping hanging off cars will cut them in half..  they think its fun to get close or race.. dumb

I have family in North Platte Nebraska . Uncle and cousin were/are engineers. Pretty sure they do the Platte to Denver run.

I always thought it was a cool job. I can see where it would get old after awhile.

#1- use an eye patch, easiest and perfectly effective. I did this for a long time for bow hunting and had zero issues.

Being left eye dominant as well, this is what I did to train myself to shoot right handed. After a summer of training my eye I could switch focus and hold it through either eye with a little squint to start the focus.

Now I'm ambidextrous. I can shoot left or right handed comparably, so it just depends upon what side the deer is on.
