  1. Well I picked my stand and haven't seen a deer. All though the stand I'm in i killed my last 4 deer out of. 3 out of the 4 we're bucks. So I know it's a good stand
  2. Anyone ever hear of or use black widow scents? It has worked very well for me. It comes from a deer farm in Pennsylvania
  3. I usually just dip a wick in the bottle and hang it on a limb
  4. I can't sleep because I'm pumped to hunt in the morning. I'm just trying to figure out what stand to get in. I guess I will have to go with whatever my gut tells me in the morning
  5. I agree with ya. I think they are the best heads I have used. The holes they put in the deer are awesome.
  6. Yeah they look like they would do some damage. I looked up some reviews about them also and most of them were all very good.
  7. I was able to get in the woods this morning because I work a late shift today. I passed on a 4 point with kind of a funky looking rack. Before I left I checked cameras and had a few pictures of him.
  8. Anyone ever shoot ram cats? They are a fix blade and I guess they are supposed to have field point accuracy. I bought some but they are still in the package
  9. I shot rockets before I went to rage, and I had people tell me that the rockets were junk. I did lose a nice buck with a rocket broad head but it wasn't the best shot in the world either. All the other times I never had an issue with them. I switched because of the bigger wounds the rage heads make. I totally agree it's all about shot placement. If you don't hit vitals the outcome will probably not be good no matter what broad head
  10. So I just took my dog outside and as I'm standing there waiting for her to do her thing I hear a buck grunting in the field behind my house. I heard 3 grunts. I went in to grab a light to see if I could see it but he was already gone.
  11. Biz is that a one pin site? I want to switch to a single pin. I have three and seems I only use my 20 yard pin
  12. Thanks a lot. I need to check my cameras I haven't since the 25th of October, but I have been getting pictures of him starting back in August. Work holds me back from getting time to hunt during the week but I hit it hard on the weekend. I'm pretty sure I laid eyes on that big guy two sundays ago. I was hunting above where I get the pictures of him in hopes of catching him or any good buck coming up the hill to bed. I was between feeding and bedding. I had some doe go through at first light and about 15 minutes later I spotted a very nice buck coming down off the top of the hill. I think it was him, very big rack but he was going through some down tree tops and he wasn't that close to me so hard to tell. I would love to get that deer

  15. I haven't seen many bucks chasing in my area. I'm sure they are I just haven't witnessed it yet. I had a close encounter with a real nice 8 point about a week ago that came in to the scent I had out. I got busted by a smaller buck that I never seen behind me when I went to draw my bow on the 8. And the 8 ran off to about 50 yards and stopped and stood there looking back in my direction. I think both the bucks came in to investigate the doe in heat I had out
  16. I also just joined the site at the beginning of the week. I have been getting on the site for a couple years just never joined until now. From what I have read it seems like all the members are a great bunch of guys. Good luck and I hope you get your buck
  17. Genesee did you get him in letchworth? I have always wanted to try to hunt there but I never have. I'm a couple hours away from there but the times I have been there I have always seen a lot of deer out in the fields right before entering the park. I'm not sure what entrance area I used, but I think it's not that far from the main office building or maintenance area. I have been there for a few work related trainings.
  18. I have seen some does and two nice bucks, but I agree it seems slow. I haven't really seen any aggressive rut activity. A few scattered rubs and i haven't seen as many scrapes and there are some places that have scrapes in the same exact spot year after year, but not this year!
  19. I have killed a few nice birds there. Actually my biggest one came from allegany state park. But I guess that's for another forum
  20. The reason I ask is because I actually work there and I thought if anyone had any questions about the park maybe I would be able to help answer them.
  21. I'm just curious if any one of you guys or gals ever deer hunt in allegany state park?
  22. I have killed deer with the chisel tip and they worked good. I'm glad I tried the hypodermic because it worked even better. I agree with ya about trusting rage broadheads. I will continue to use them
  23. 15' to 18' is plenty high enough for me
  24. Thanks guys. He is definitely one of the better bucks on my family property I just hope he stays on our property and gives me a shot at him.
