I've always wander how fast deer reflexes realy are and how to overcome them. Since last year is when i started wondering. The old man took a shot at a spiker at roughly 20 to 30 yards out. With in a second or two the deer duck the shot and ran off. My question to all the bow hunters out there is how to over come the reflexes? When do the deer begin to "jump the string"(i think thats what its called when the deer ducks). Do they do it at 5, 10, 15 and so on. Is it increased when the deers alert and the speed of the bow a factor(I shoot a diamond outlaw if that helps)?

I'm soooooooooooo excited!!!!!! The call of the bow might be greater than the call of the boat. Good Luck to all this season.

I applied and my number was drawen for a chance to bow hunt at the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge in Shirley NY.(long Island) I was wondering if anyone had ever hunted there or even been there. It will be kind of a challange for me as they are giving you 1 day from 9am to 4pm to scout the area I was selected for. They must have a good number of deer as the hunt is only 2 days and you have to kill two doe before they will give you a buck tag. Any info at all would be much appricated.

Any of you old duffers (like me) out there that have to wear glasses with bi/tri-focal lenses and still are trying to shoot a bow? Get rid of your bow string peep sight and try a Hind Sight system. You really would be suprised how much it will improve your accurracy & especially consistency with your bow. Both parts of system are mounted on the bow frame, so wrist torque is almost eliminated. 3 thumbs up for this product! May be other similiar products, but I'm not aware of them. http://www.hindsightco.com/Default.htm

This is a great hunting camp in Brookfield, NY. It’s surrounded by the Charles E. Baker State Forest (9,400 acres). I’ve been hunting at this camp for the past 5 years with 3-4 other consistent hunters, and 4-5 visiting hunters. We harvest an average of 7 bucks and 9 doe form bow season through muzzle loader season. Many diverse hunting opportunities from large swamps, hilly hardwoods, beaver ponds, large pine stands, and open meadows. If anyone has any questions let me know. Hey all, I'm just beginning to get into bow hunting and need to get a bag. I'm looking to spend under $200 and have found some good deals online but I have no clue where to start. Any advice is appreciated.
