Building my deer blind

Recommended Posts

So, is the structure "free standing"? Are the 6x6's in holes?

The back 2 posts on the upper side of the hill are in the ground about18". The downside posts are on big rocks at this post. I am going to concrete all 4 eventually.

It took me about a week on and off by myself. I had to haul all this stuff little by little up a steep hill 1/3 mile back up in the woods. I was putting in 6 hrs or so pounding nails and hauling stuff till I got her done. Was well worth it and my fingernail is finally growing back..

Those are very nice blinds, I like how you make them. What kind of money in materials do you have in these blinds? Also your platform looks very well done. I used to hunt in ladder stands, or sneak down the slough in my tall rubber boots, but today I have box blinds all over the place. B):alcoholic::wild:

I finally got to concrete my post. I pounded rebar in the ground about three feet. Then I encircled a 5 gallon bucket with bottom cut out and a slice down the side around the 2 doenhill post for a form. It worked out well and the stand doesn't budge.
