Grouse
According to Paul Alexander, when former President Trump was trying to tackle COVID-19 in 2020, the “swamp” or the “deep state” was working against him, using flawed data to tarnish him, locking down society, and keeping schools closed. https://www.theepochtimes.com/deep-state-was-working-against-trump-on-covid-19-response-paul-alexander_4429415.html?utm_source=morningbriefnoe&utm_campaign=mb-2022-05-02&utm_medium=email&est=jsG9AvP80%2FUADmNQJ3sWt8wcsVku15k1uPLU3R7TWmIr5pz6PodWpPHOOw%3D%3D

Grouse
CDC bought cellphone location data to track Americans: Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request by CYBER, a cybersecurity group, it has been revealed that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention purchased tracking location data from the cellphones of at least 20 million Americans. The CDC reportedly "bought access to location data" in order to perform "analysis of compliance with curfews, track patterns of people visiting K-12 schools, and specifically monitor the effectiveness of policy in the Navajo Nation." The CDC bought the cellphone data from data broker SafeGraph. But the CDC's aims for the tracking data appear to go beyond merely COVID-related application. As cybersecurity researcher Zach Edwards noted, "The CDC seems to have purposefully created an open-ended list of use cases, which included monitoring curfews, neighbor to neighbor visits, visits to churches, schools and pharmacies, and also a variety of analysis with this data specifically focused on 'violence.'" Furthermore, the CDC has continued to access this mobility data despite the pandemic having ended. The report states that "this data is used by several teams/groups in the response and have been resulting in deeper in deeper insights into the pandemic as it pertains to human behavior."
