what are your experiences trying to get permission to bow hunt corporate park areas? tough to get someone in charge to actually ask them but some places seem like there are opportunities..hunting time would be on weeknds when there arent employees around. but i guess if the land is owned by a business it is technically trespassing

It is illegal to discharge a firearm or bow:

  • so that the load or arrow passes over any part of a public highway,
  • within 500 feet of any school, playground, or an occupied factory or church,
  • within 500 feet of a dwelling, farm building or structure in occupation or use unless you own it, lease it, are an immediate member of the family, an employee, or have the owner's consent.

Does this mean if you are an employee, it is ok? called DEC and they had no clue.. great

the answer is NO...bad advice....

just being an employee does not give you permission

most company's have a NO firearm policy...

Bad advice, really? I was answering what he asked about the DEC regs. I didnt say he wouldnt have to get permission from the owner, that goes without saying seeing as that peron owns or leases the property. You always have to get permission to hunt any land unless you own or lease it.

As I said, he would have to get permission from all other businesses and residences within 500 feet as well.

As far as being fired, you can only speak about your own policies if you are a business owner, not all companies follow the same policies that you do.

problem is you can never get a person at any large company to actually address my inquiry. goes back to them probably not wanting to take responsibilty of a hunter on their property. we'll have to move on... keep my options open
