tuning a fix blade

Hi everyone Im sure it in the threads some were about this.

Im trying a fix blade broad head this year from the mechanical I used for years. Is there a tuning process I should be aware of before I start moving things around on my bow. I have a 2 arrows that fly solid and 2 that fly to the right. I did however try a couple more arrows and they flew to the right again.

    The first thing i have to ask is. are you shooting a 2" vane?  If so, you can sometimes get head stear out of a fixed blade head with 2" vanes. I would suggest a 3"-4" vane for fixed blades. As far as tuning i have never had to change anything once tuned with field point. Given there the same grain. It might sound remedial but i dont know your experience with archery.... Just my experience

Im using a 4 in vain on carbon arrows. Its amazing to me on how these arrows fly kinda all over the place. Im using the same grain and the same set up that I have used for 20 years except of course the broadhead. I keep reading about vain to head alignments. some say keep them aligned other say off set. I just hate to pull inserts or re vain the arrows if its a tuning issue with the bow. I guess Im looking for tips.

I would start with paper tuning with field points, after that than work with the broad heads, if your still getting 2 on center and 2 right, I would check what position your blades are I when at full draw for 3 blade I always liked mine to look like a "Y" and for 4 blade either a "X" or "+".

I second what nyarcher said, I tune the bow first, then line up the blades with the vanes in the Y fashion.

It may be that the spin test will show that those arrows that are not flying true the Bh is not on the shaft correctly. The spin test will show the wobble and that means problem will the much bigger with a BH...
