Fantail
Smooth bore or rifled barrel? If it's smooth bore try the buckhammer slugs, rifled (twist) any decent sabot should work.
ants
I bought my son a single shot Rossi .410 for his first gun when he was 7. It also came with a .22 lr barrel. We still have it. I think they're very good guns.

ants
That surprises me too. Maybe it has a real tight choke???? Seems like, with a scope, it would make a good little slug/deer gun. but If it says no slugs than no slugs IMHO.
Dan92
has a mod choke on it.. forgot to mention that earlier.. i got buckshot and shot a few today all 9 pellets hit the target at about 20 yards in a nice 4-5 in diameter circle
RobC
I got my son one that came with a 20g, 22lr, and a .243 barrel for 200 bucks. The 243 and 22 had scopes mounted already. But it's so light the 20g kicks like a mule. Not sure about the 243 haven't shot it yet.
