wooffer
They look like a couple of rookies, hopefully next time they won't let their guard down. Just what the NRA said though, a gun in the good guys hands is the only match for a gun in the bad guys hands. "Police Officer Levay, 27, who was shot in his lower back (and protected by his vest), fired back at the shooter, killing him."

shawnhu
The perp also had priors, showing that a violent crook is going to be a violent crook. How Bloomberg can try to twist this into another one of his gun control agendas is mind boggling. Both shootings involving NYPD cops was guns from out of state. Just imagine the scenario had these cops not confronted this individual, an entire subway car could have been slaughtered. I'm curious to know how the other officer was shot in his back, was he trying to run?

shawnhu
Sometimes I feel like it's safer being an NYC police officer than a civilian.
wztirem
The obvious problem with the death penalty (proven) is that innocent people have been executed.
