Deerthug
Police: Cab driver shoots attempted robber on 17th Street in Jericho Published: March 14, 2013 12:06 PM Police say the cab driver is a former federal law enforcement officer. (March 14, 2013 12:05 PM) JERICHO - Police say a suspected crook is in the hospital after picking a fight with the wrong cab driver. Authorities say Donald Canham tried to rob a cabbie last night on 17th Street in Jericho. Police say the driver, a former federal law enforcement officer, pulled out his licensed handgun and opened fire after taking a few punches to the head. Canham was shot in the leg. He is now under arrest. Good for the cabbie. But he should have aimed for his head! Would have saved us a lot of money!

Doc
I wonder how many other guys that maybe were planning on holding up a cabbie or looking at some other individuals and professions as being an easy mark are today reconsidering that thought because of this incident. Sometimes being a "bad-guy" can have some serious down-sides ..... lol. And sometimes being prepared can have some good teaching benefits for others that may have crime on their mind. Too bad we don't have more "teachers" of this kind. The world would be a much safer place.
