Deerthug
So I made it up this weekend for a final shot at getting a turkey. Unfortunately they are predicting rain for tomorrow and sunday morning in my area - Germantown. I have an Ameristep blind set up at the edge of a field. I also have other natural blinds without covers scattered in the pines and woods around us. I've read that turkeys like to come out into the fields when it rains. Any thoughts on best place to set up?

Water Rat
The Ameristep blind on the edge of the field sounds like a good strategy. If your lucky enough to know where the turkeys enter and exit the field , all the better. The reason turkeys like to come out into the fields when it's raining is because their hearing is diminished and therefor rely on their eyesight even more. I would also suggest some decoys. Best of luck .
Deerthug
I was thinking the same thing. The Ameristep is at a place where they've roosted and flown down. Going to put out couple of hens and do some light calling. Hope it brings them in.
