JJJG02
Hello everybody, I'm moving to upper New York in September. I have been hunting pretty much everything for about 25 years. Deer are my favorite but since I have two German Shorthairs I'm looking forward to bird and waterfowl hunting also. Looking forward to getting back to the snow and snowmachines again also. sits in trees
NY is a great state to live and work (except for Cuomo), I've been many other places and nothing compares.
carloracer1987
Whatever you do stay FAR away from Tompkins county !!! I hate that I live here every day, other then that NY is a great state with plenty of state land and various regions.
JJJG02
I have been researching NY and the outdoor activities and I'm pretty sure we will enjoy living there. Not real fond of the gun laws though. I'll also be looking to lease some property or join a hunt club/ camp if anyone knows of any.

Upper New York? There is plenty of it! Could you be more specific? I live in the North Country.....way up in upper New York...right near Lake Placid ..but many think the Catskills or Albany or Rochester etc are "Upstate". So, where is your "upper NY?" I also had a German Short-hair that I brought back with me from Europe....loved to hunt pheasants and just had a natural instinct for ANY game bird. If a crow flew by, he would just ignore it, but let a pheasant, duck, goose, fly by at 100-200 yards and he would just look stop all activity and stare at it.
