growalot
So seeing the neighbor has been working along our property lines...It's given me an excuse to do some finishing up work...for one thing that "forever fence" I've been building...taking me for ever just to get 100yrds stretched...lol...but today I get to take down the 330 ft roll of goat/ sheep fencing and start stretching it...by the way I've done this all by my little lonesome...so there's a little pride in that..it's by no means perfect but it will get the job done..Besides it taking so long has let me see how well those black locust posts would hold to frost heaving...not bad...did brace a couple ...... Well this is near the bigger plot field and I have a quarter acre area between the fence and the plot that is still fallow rough land...this a.m. I went down and weed sprayed the fence line and the 1/4 acre...I had limed a big section of that earlier this summer just in case..Since it looks like I'll have most of the fence stretched...I'll lay down another 7 bags of lime to finish it and once the fence is up I'll rough disc it and then hammer it with a combo of WW or WR and feed oats...Then next year I'll start the next 100yrds Gosh about the time I finish one leg of a project I start another...it's a sickness I tell ya!!...lol

growalot
Thanks...That will be that last of the open land I have to smooth and plant....way down at the end of that lane way sits my best stand....I have avoided that area due to the nephew of my neighbor ..trespassing and shooting at me...so once the fence is complete...I'll finish smoothing that area then plant...no more killing the mower decks and my kidneys yippee!...lol...the next section of fencing will be 6-8ft chain link..I've collected over the years....I'll be able to shoot a deer up in the woods and worry less about them crossing the line...though the land owner neighbor has always been good about any call I've had to make over the years...he just won't control the nephew. I have all the locust cut for the next section they are drying nicely...

growalot
Ya fantail...he's a real tool...He bought one acre from his grandparents as a hunting camp ...then hunts his uncles place...brings up a bunch of guys with him...He did this before the grandparents got ticked off and sold all the land he hunted next to the uncles place to us....He apparently figured taking pots shots at my daughter and I would drive us off.....not!.....then figured he'd just stand or sit on the uncles side of lane way and shoot deer in our woods...sneak over and get them....so after a few encounters and DEC calls...I let the neighbor know I'd be installing fencing...if he had trees to cut consider doing it soon...so last year he had the place logged again...I started the fence at the road and I am working my way back....a total of 1300ft deep is the property line......I let him know the front would be new 48in. goat fencing with a electric tape top wire (Solar) but the back section where the nephew seems to think he can get away with "stuff" with out being seen ......will be the chain link fencing I've been collecting...you know what they say...good fencing makes good neighbors The neighbor is older 70's ...so who knows what will happen to the place in the next 15yrs?...most of what is next to us save 50ft we had to give up to him(long story) is all swamp so no housing....but even a bigger tool than the nephew could end up buying..by that time I'll be too old to want to deal with BS... I won't worry about deer movement for I'll make sure that there is food and water and cover on us The deer can move from the farmlands above us and behind us to across the street into another neighbors Norway plantation...which we own 24 acres on the back side of that with 6 streams and a swamp....He's happy...he and his wife hunt ...so he sits in the middle of some awesome hunting land..Our place is shaped sorta like a big upside down J

OR if you wanna go the safer/better route>>> that person can be arrested if you turn them in...
