growalot
I just came in from hand raking over a half mile of trails...ssshh don't tell Mr B...little sore....any ways...I also mowed grass for a small trail down the lane way......this gave me a chance to put cam card back and as I drove up to the camera what do I see?a 3 ft round scrape under a small oak and maple branch ...I had put a fake scrape 2wks ago and nothing touched it but...they decided to make there own 7 yrds away...biggest I've ever seen here...so out of the scrapes I've made...all but 2 have had action in or very near them and that is the most that have happened here especially this early So I hit the video button and turned the camera in that direction...I'll check it later next week.. Gotta run need to pick up all the cemetery pots before the town gets them...Geezz the Family donated the cemetery to the town...you'd think I wouldn't have to worry about it... growalot
73 here and 68 at camp...all my trails wind around the property...there are a lot of them....I have one section of land that is1/2 mile from one line to the next and only 411ft wide and I have a trail that runs down the middle and back up the other side...that can not have any vehicles on it due to 6 full time streams that flow to the swampy area...they've cut in a couple of small water falls... PS..I can admit...I am seriously obsessed about have QUIET walks in and out of the woods...great thing about the hand raking is it frees up rocks and ..you know...those little twigs that on a quiet walk in sound like a sonic boom when you snap them...lol Edited October 11, 2013 by growalot

growalot
Nope that is the guys place...for when I tried to do improvements...NO one wanted to help..then ...hey I'm particular about stands..I'm the only bow hunter...so I would build mine and had only two rules...use a harness...unlike theirs mine are 16 to 22 ft tall...and NO SMOKING...then I have a perfect one very near a bedding area so no 4 wheeler there....went down to hunt one week end and the place was trample down with the 4 wheeler and cigarette butts around the bedding stand...a guest was allowed to use it.... Took a buck but then drove the 4 wheeler in..getting stuck(swampy area and just made a mess of it...Then I found out that a trespasser was found in one of my other stands ...they wouldn't arrest him...mind you the stand was 200 yards into posted property...So I only hit camp when no one else is around and have pulled a couple of stands to use here...Turkey season is great ...I'm the only turkey hunter and I do like going down to hunt bear in early bow...couldn't this year.....knee just not up to Alfred hills with no decent trails... I hunt because I like seeing deer...I don't have to shoot them...nice when I choose to but not necessary...biggest thing is doing work and having plans and seeing them pan out
