hang fyre
I had someone give me one recently. Was wondering if anyone has used this. Should this be hung over a real scrape or a mock scrape? Just wondering cuz there are scrapes all around my stand. Thought about tryin it out.

Bleitten04
I would have to say that it wouldn't matter if you made a mock scrape or put it over a real one. I use to use one but I really don't know how well they work. There are suppose to only drop scent during the day due to rising temps I believe. There was action in the scrape I put it over which was a real one. I still think that most of the activity though was nocturnal. I don't think it would hurt anything though to put it out and give it a try.
sweet old bill
I have a buddy who has 6 of these out on public land and all have his hand made fake scraps and all are active. He swears on these and does take a buck over them each year for the last 10 years or more. He says that this week and next week will be the hot time for the scrapes as he is getting a lot of doe's on the fake scrapes now...he says once the actual breeding starts his activity level goes down. He use's a powder that makes a qt of the scent that he puts in the dripper
Isles323
I agree with your buddy, mock scrapes seem to work really well.
