  1. Same thing has happened to me. If you are around bass pro gander mtn. or maybe even a dick's they can probably just get you new screw for that pin. And they probably will have the pin pretty much in the same spot if there carefull so you will only have to do a minor tweek to it just to make sure its back on target.
  2. I believe you don't need to wax the part that loops over the cam. B Pro told me to wax it at least every other time I shoot. They said you can't over wax a string and some of them guys may do it everytime they shoot.
  3. The felt wouldnt work most likely it would be to hard to make it look right on the goose's head. I'm probably gonna just end up buying the kit offline that comes with the actual adhesive that is suppose to be used. The stuff I bought said right on it "great for scrap books" so it probably just isn't powerfull enough.
  4. Hey has anyone ever tried flocking goose decoys before. I tried the other day and they came out looking pretty good. However the flocking powder easily came off when I rubbed it. I did not buy a kit offline I just used regular flocking powder for a local craftstore and then a glue they recommended for the powder. The glue however seemed very similar to paper glue lol. Anyone who has tried this before what kind of glue did you use? Thanks for the help.
  5. North American Hunter Organization has a couple real nice ones. The only downfall is that you have to become a member in order to receive them.
  6. Got some nice pics of a couple real nice deer. Anybody think the two bigs could be the same? I think its possible but would need to see a better pic to really tell. Also got a few other bucks that will be nice in a year or so but I only posted a few others I thought were pretty neat looking.
  7. Hey everyone me and my dad are looking for a used pontoon boat that is atleast 18ft. Just wondering if anyone here might be trying to get rid of one or know someone else trying to get rid of one. I've done some surfing on the net but haven't came across a good deal yet so if anyone has any good sights to where they look for boats that would be helpful also. Thanks.
  8. Probably about a half acre of land. I'm not sure when I want to plant the food plot yet I'm still doing some research on it. I'll post again in a few days after I look some stuff up. Thanks for the response!!!!
  9. Ok I have an area where I would like to put a food plot. I don't have heavy equipment to turn the ground over. The area is all goldenrod and I would like to know how well the no till food plots would work in this area. I assume I need to get rid of the goldenrod but what about the seeds that will remain in the soil even if the goldenrod was removed?
  10. Went out to Maxwell yesterday and ended up catching one 22in steelhead. The guys next to me in the morning crushed them and then things really slowed down in the afternoon.
  11. I'll be heading there tomorow actually. I don't get it though I usually see everybody catch fish but I never do > . I'm determined to get one tomorow though I'm going from sunup to sundown if I don't catch any. I'll post how I do.
  12. I was there last week sometime and didn't catch a thing. > Saw a few other guys do quite well getting 3 or 4 a piece and they had been there for a while so they probably caught more before I got there. So yes the fishing is good there now I just can't figure it out > .
  13. Sodus Bay is a great place to fish. You can really get into some jumbo perch there. This one was 12 1/2 in. and I weighed it at 1.2 lbs.
  14. Depends where your fishing. If your fishing in a place where there is a lot of perch like I do then I suggest using a jigging pole or two with a swedish pimple on the bottom of your line and a shrimpo about 10 in. above it. You can place minnows or even fish eyes lol on the hooks to entice fish to bite. Lately I haven't used tip ups for perch. If I do use my tip ups I usually put a big bass minnow on there and try to catch some pike or something bigger.
  15. 50 perch that I caught on Dec. 23. Also kept 50 the day before but these ones were bigger.
  16. Ice Fishing is very fun to me anyways. I have a blast. It helps that I limit out almost everytime I go for perch lol. When you go for bigger ones it can get a bit slower but still can be a blast. I'll post a picture a little later of my catch the other day up at Sodus Bay.
  17. What knid of fishing do you like better? Ice Fishing or regular fishing? Its a tough decision for me. I catch quite of fish doing both. I feel like I catch some bigger ones ice fishing though so thats where my vote is.
  18. I turkey hunt there sometimes and it seems to be a pretty nice place. Never been there for deer but I do know another guy that hunts there. I'm not sure where he goes but I do know he gets back in there pretty good. He is a trophy hunter and doesn't even bother with does. I don't know why he won't take a doe : . But he says he see's a ton of deer and every once in a while gets a nice buck.
  19. Yes there is a game farm there where the boars escaped from. I've gone down and checked it out but found nothing. As for the topic, thats a heck of a deer!!!!!
  20. Ive been down there looking for some hogs and never saw any and didn't see any sign of them. I will def. be goin down again this winter however to try it again.
  21. nice!!!!!! Hope you get him!!!!
  22. Nice Job hope you get a repeat performance!!!!
  23. I think South Hill is where I might have been because I did go up a real twisted road. I would have to look at a map again to check but the parking lot was real small and could only fit 3 vehicles in it. Across from the parking lot was all posted and there was a small field of goldenrod right in front of the parking area and the hiking trail that goes through there was just to the left of the parking area. Anyways its a great place and really nice area to spend a day. Thanks for the posts guys!!!
  24. I'm not an expert but a deer with good genetics at 1.5 should be more then a spike so in a perfect world where you could always tell the ages you could let the 1.5's that are more then a spike walk. I know on some game farms the 1.5's are probably trophy animals by some peoples standards already but they let them walk to get super big. IMO if you want to practice the QDM you should shoot the spike before the 4 or 6.
  25. Wow there seems to be a lot of really nice deer taken this year. Now this is the first time I've ever been apart of a forum like this and been able to see what other people take during a year. Usually I only know what my friends and family get. However is this some kind of "record" year possibly? I have seen pics in B pro of big deer taken in the past and I assume they don't get pics of every big deer but it seems like there has been more big bucks taken this year? Anybody else feel like it has been a great year for NY?
