moog5050
So I couldn’t find my cheap rangefinder and bought this replacement. Limited experience so far but I do love how you can range in the dark and actually see the distance. It changes from a black to red readout in the dark. Already way better than what I was using. Says it should be able to range a tree at 1000 and a deer at 700. If it does half that I am ahead. But for the night ranging alone, I give it an A+. Plus it gives you actual calculated drop for many common rifle ammo if you happen to care. You set the ammo and it runs the numbers when ranging so you know the drop at the range you se. Not bad for a $200 RF. And yes it calculates ARC for bow or rifle. Edited October 4, 2022 by moog5050

I hate not being able to range new tree spots before first lightSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Not anymore. It’s kind of cool. And like you, I range spots not animals.
BizCT
Wait what ? Biz the treestands are cheating guy , uses a range finder ? I’ve never ranged a deer in NY. But I have out west. In NY I range trees before any deer come.I also have hang ons in putnam, dutchess and CT. Sometimes I need 6-8ft to see over a ridge and stay hidden behind trees.
