13BVET
Interestingly enough, I stumbled upon this while searching for another air rifle. Mike Melick makes this pcp, which sells for all of $100. Anyone who is into airguns big time, like me, and Shawnhu, know who Mike Melick is. He is very well known in airgun circles as being excellent at airgun tuning. This guy really knows his stuff. Anyway, I ordered one today. What is great about this air rifle, is the 1500 max psi fill, which, somehow, Mike has made it so that you can get between 800-900fps in .22, and 900fps and up in .177. Very interesting-I just had to get one of these! This is a pick of what it looks like. http://flyingdragonairrifles.org/XS60C_PCP.html
shawnhu
You can't go wrong in a PCP for only $100! What's the power source going to be Stan? Pump? On a side note, I just tore down my Benjamin and replaced a few seals. Leaking PCP's is no fun! 13BVET
Hey, Shawn. Yep, it's going to be a pump. I got the pump, and the pcp for $240 total. You can buy the gun separate, but I needed to get a replacement pump anyway. Is the Benji alright now?
13BVET
I'll tell you, Shawn-I didn't even know this gun existed.
shawnhu
Like many of the low-end made in china products, quality control does not exist. This is the reason why Mike is in business, he IS the quality control post production. This goes for a lot of the Crosman and Daisy products as well. The .25 Marauder is an exception, as the most important part, the barrel is made by GM barrel company and has a great track record for being consistent and accurate. Its almost time for me to do a tear down on the pump to replace seals as well.... 13BVET
The XS60C, of course, is made by BAM. I've actually owned BAM air rifles in the past, and they are actually built pretty solid, unlike the Shanghais.
shawnhu
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=59114.0 Stan, with a little work, you can have yourself a pretty cheap Marauder. 13BVET
Cant wait to here a report on this!! I'll definitely try to get one out there once I get the gun. Having said that, there are shot strings on an airgun forum. Pretty impressive numbers for only 1500 psi.

Benji's are good air rifles. Ironically, even though I ordered 2 air rifles today (a .25, and the XS60C PCP), I still haven't gotten the other one I want-an NP! ny hunter
It came with a cheap center point scope,I well run to dicks and get a better one this weekend and start shooting...the gun feels nice so lets see...
13BVET
It's just a matter of getting used to it again. Remember artillery hold! You might be able to get a reasonably priced 3x9x40. That's what I use on mine.
ny hunter
I saw a bushnell rimfire scope for I think it was like 60 bucks.that should do the trick.I have to say the gun is not as heavy as people on the pyramid site made it out to be. 13BVET
Some people tend to worry too much about weight. To me, the heavier the gun, the more accurate it is. Is that scope going to be able to handle the recoil?
13BVET
I tend to use scopes that are designed for centerfires, as they can absorb more recoil.

Do yourself a favor and research scopes before buying. You'll need a scope capable of front and back recoil designed for break barrel airguns. Most scopes designed for powder burners are one way recoil, break barrels will eat these expensive scopes up. Break in the trail, then shoot it at 25 yards and see what groups you get. If you are getting dime sized, go with a 4-16x UTG. If quarter sized, go with a 3-9 or 12x CenterPoint Adventure class or UTG/Leapers. Side parallax is WAY better than front. Anything bigger than a quarter at 25, return it or change pellets and start over. Good luck with it! Elmo
Picked up the same Hatsan .25 you got Stan since I wasn't thrilled with the Benjamin 397. Haven't really got much use out of it yet. Took it to the range over the summer but it was shooting all over the place. Not thrilled with the Hatsan either. Think I need to clean out the manufacturer's grease first. Guess I'm not that much of an airgun type of guy.
13BVET
Hi, Elmo. I actually ditched that Hatsan, since I had the same problem. I had the .22 version, and I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. That was the 1000s I believe. I also had the Hatsan model 95, but that one was a tack driver in .22. Elmo
It was the cheapest .25 caliber I could find that shot at legal speeds. Wanted more knock down power to use in shotgun only zones without having to pick shotgun pellets out of my harvests. I didn't like the fact that the trigger is so far in front of the handle. It's like I need Andre The Giant size hands to hold it comfortably. Will stick to the good old shotgun and 22LRs for now.

shawnhu
Ever since getting the PCP, my break barrels have been on the sidelines. It's JUST as Erika at PyramydAir told me would happen.
