Drake non typical fleece hoodie

So I grabbed one of these off Amazon. Problem is it doesn't shed water in the spin cycle. Washed it twice and both times I had to take outside and press the water out of it before hanging. Is this a common problem with fleece? I tried extended cycle still no beans.

Did you use fabric softener! I think Downy does that to towels
