sweet old bill
Nothing like finally a sure sign of spring, sunny sky, and a new PSE Drive model bow to sight in. I was able to sight in out to 35 yards. The bow shot like a dream, it is to replace my 2007 Hoyt. But the Hoyt will stick around as a great bow for hunting and backup.
dbHunterNY
good bow for the money and plenty fast enough. very forgiving brace height and compact for blinds and tree stands. keeping the old bow around in working order as a back up is a good idea. only thing you have to be cognizant of is that short axle-to-axle allows you to cant the bow easier when stalking on a side hill or leaning to make a shot from a stand. Most PSE bows have an adjustable draw length without need to buy other modules, cams, and/or string sets. Makes it much easier to pass a bow onto family or friend who wants to get into the sport of archery or bow hunting. I think you made a great choice, as PSE makes great bows. damore81
I got the same bow in the skullworks camo. Looks great and shoots great. A little heavy but I like that because some of these lighter bows feel like a toy and feel like they are going to break.
sweet old bill
the bow is just about 4 oz more than the hoyt. It does seem if you get the heavy bow that they make less noise when you shoot a arrow. Also the bow just seems to lay in the hand during the shot process. dbHunterNY
Yea PSE grips are very good to prevent torque. If you're hunting when it's really cold and don't like the metal grip, PSE makes a Velcro neoprene cover.
sweet old bill
I shot yesterday and had a group of 10 arrows that were in a 3 inch spot. I had two of the arrows that were just on the right side of the spot on the edge, but was due to the wind at times, it was hard to hold on the center of the spot at 25 yards. My buddy was raving on the bow and he is now in the market to get this PSE Drive model bow. He also has a 2007 Hoyt and that still will be his backup bow like I have mine. I also played with my New 2013 40 inch 3D bow from Alpine, have it setup with a fiber optic scope, Tox slider sight, 12 inch stabilizer, also have a 30 inch stabilizer for shooting NFAA or 900 round, I still am shooting a WB's rests on all my bows. I find I do just as well with them than with a fall a- way rest. They are more user friendly for a old fart like me 73 years young and still shooting. I also am shooting a Winn hook release, my backup release is a short / sweet release. I use to shoot for Hot shot a few years ago.. I had a old Hot shot that I sent in for repair and they sent me a new one to replace the old one. Now that what I call Mfg service.
dbHunterNY
I'm getting a 2013 PSE Bowmaddness 3G for 3D this year. not 40" but seems pretty stabile. I've found I shoot better with sticking to just one release. I'm shooting a TRU Ball Beast II that's a lot like your short-n-sweet. my backup is actually a fancy, shiny, Stan Shootoff thumb trigger. regardless of what I use I'm definitely not limited by the PSE bows. they can shoot better than my ability. they change them now but my wife has a 2013 PSE Stiletto. Now that is a high performance bow that happens to be for women. that thing flat out shoots and she really likes it. same as your PSE it's a little heavier for what it is, but shoots well. Meat Manager
+1 in PSE grips reducing torque. I've got the 2012 bow madness xs...it's a deer slayer. After 5000 shots in the first 3 months I had it last spring I don't bother shooting groups anymore...too many busted arrows. dbHunterNY
...I meant to say I already had the Bowmaddness and I'm getting it ready. I've shot it a few times so far getting it shot and dialed in.
