How's the trout fishing so far??

I've been to the Postenkill a few times so far and caught a bunch of small stockies but nothing over 10 inches yet. Probably hit the Kinderhook in a few days and me and my dad are gonna go up to the Mettawee in the next few weeks or so. Anyone else having any luck??

Let me know how you make out on the Mettawee, I live by there yet have never fished it due to the lack of knowledge about the river. I have tried the Battenkill numerous times with no luck and also the black creek with no luck. I am gonna try Dead pond tomorrow in between my business meetings on my way to MA and also the Hoosic by the NY/VT line.

Slow in dutchess. Water table is high and streams are flowing fast.

Yup, slow over my way as well. Same story. Water is high river running fast and super dirty.

 

Now walleye and norhern season is here so when im out thats what im going for. Wouldn't mind catching a few nice trout to.

Been fishing from the piers in Wilson, have been getting a lot of small Rainbow and a few nice brown trout.  Water finally cleared a little, is green and just a little murky now.  Been a few fun evenings out there!
