Ohh sorry LOL. I live in Gilbertsville NY just going into the village a few places down from Sloans farm. That would be cool. I am going to be looking into getting some processing equiptment soon. I gotta get some money in my pocket first, I also Race Quads so I have to throw alot of what money i get into the quad because im not going to have my dad pay for it all.

I just do it the old fasion way. Im only 15 and only skinned 2 deer for my grandfather. When it comes to cutting them up i just take them to the butchers i dont have any of the crap to do it or the knowledge to cut em up. I would like to learn tho

Yes, I gathered you lived in NY. That is why I asked what "PART", meaning  West, South, Vermont border, etc. I live just west of Saratoga, near the Sacandaga Lake(NY)

My reasoning for asking was, if you were anywhere close to me, I would be willing to hook up with you and share the art of processing a deer from start to finish so you would have some knowledge of it and be able to attempt it on your own in the future and save yourself some money and have better quality meat. That's all.

I have been down through that area on my bike a yr. or so ago. I used to travel that direction alot, got family in West Windsor & Endicott.

Full75, yeah i like it in Gilbertsville, Nice quite village until hunting season comes around then it fills up with people from New Jersey, my father and i were the Caretaker of 250 acers then the guy parcaled it off in like 35 lots. My dad pulled a huge 8 out of there 2 years ago, i was pretty upset to see the land be sold into lots. Some lots even less then 1 acer.

Oh, I know the feeling about loosing hunting land.

My great uncle had 350 acres outside of Endicott, NY that I hunted on for 30 yrs. It was by far the best combonation of hunting terrain I have ever hunted on....................cover, open hardwoods, water(several ponds and a creek) oak grove and an apple orchard and part of it was an old christmas tree farm w/ some open farm fields.

Well upon his passing away 7 yrs ago, his oldest daughter was given power of attorney of the estate. For the first three yrs she did nothing with the estate, then yr. 4 she posted and sold off all the property except for a small piece that the house sat on. She did get a grandfathered usage agreement for my uncle (her cousin) and myself to hunt the property during the deer hunting season, that was great until the buyer clear cut logged the entire wood lot and sold the property to someone else and we got booted off. That was 2 seasons ago..........................I spent alot  of time on those 350 acres. I had always hoped my son would take his first buck there just as I did so many yrs. ago.

Thats ashame. I hate that, if i buy property and someone that is respectful to the land and laws has hunted it for years before,  i would give them full permission to hunt it. Maybe i would tell them they can only up to 2 deer a year but i wouldnt tell them they cant hunt it at all anymore. And thats for sure, times are changing. People are showing less and less respect for eachother and its very hard to find a person thats kind enough to let you hunt their land or even show you how to process a deer like you did.

I hear you on that one! i totally agree. The world is crazy and the only way to keep your family safe is with the trusty old guns. When it comes to the kids in my schools and my community, I totally get sick just watching all these kids as young as 12 smoking and dealing pot. Just totally grosses me out. I go to Norwich School because i live with my mom but am at my dads every weekend and alot during the summer almost every day and i would rather Be in Gilbertsville then Norwich. To many Druggies.
