Bobcat,Yote,Fox,Several Bucks (3N-Putnam County)

Checked cameras for the 2^nd time this year.

This time I had 3 cams out from 8/24 – today.  Main cam was in same spot as always near acorns in Putnam County (3N) on private 8 acres behind some houses.  A second cam I put watching an area that I threw some “Throw & Grow”.  I’ve had a small bag of this I once got for free at Cabelas a few years ago and never used it. Well last time I checked the cams I just kicked around some leaves and threw the seed. I was shocked to actually see it grow. I actually wasn’t shocked to see deer (1 real nice buck) eating it because there is not much feed where I hunt, as I have seen deer eating bark sometimes.  This throw and grow spot is about 75 yards from the main cam and then I added a 3^rd cam another 75 yards or so on the other side of the main cam.

 

Anyway, it was best “pull” of cams in my life (this is my 3^rd year using cams on this property). I got over 1,000 pics in 3 weeks. Tons of does and fawns. Also tons of red fox, maybe some are the same but many appear different sizes. But literally 400+ pics of red fox. Also, got my 1^st ever Bobcat! And first ever Coyote!  Lastly, and most importantly, I think there are about 5-6 different bucks and 1 definite 8 pointer. I only had 2 extra SD cards so I pulled 2 cards and took a picture of the 8 pointer on my cell phone off the camera before putting the card back in.

 

Do you guys think the 8 pointer on 9/12 is the same as the hardhorned buck on 9/13? I can’t quite tell, and of course would be happy if they are 2 different bucks.  Let me know!

Looks like 2 different bucks to me. The one in velvet has pretty noticeable brow tines and the other doesn't seem to have much. Plus the G3 on the right side of the velvet buck is a little crooked.

These pics are making me contemplate hunting out of a treestand for the first time in hopes of getting that yote or bobcat under me with my xbow in hand

looks like 2 diff bucks.. i have used trail cams now for 20 years (i started with the old trail timers that had a plunger that pushed the camera button on a 35mm) and i get more enjoyment out of them then hunting 90% of the time.

I would have to say they are 2 different as well.. God luck and hopefully you get a crack a them!

Thanks guys, confirms my guess that they are 2 different bucks as well. Last year was the first year in probably like 15-20 years that neither my Dad or Me took a buck off this 8 acres piece of property.  This is by far the most amount of different bucks I have ever gotten on camera. Hopefully with the addition of the Xbow season this year, we can get some of the bucks on the ground.

 

We've never owned a treestand, my Dad and I believe that the landowner might allow us to put one up.  However, we have always hunted from the ground (no blinds) regardless of hunting with shotgun or xbow.  Would it be a bad idea to throw up a 2-man ladder stand this close to the Nov. 1st Xbow opening day? We have always been the type of hunters who believe in leaving everything as natural as possible (no blinds, no treestands, no scent lures, etc.).

Just bought 2 more bags of Throw & Grow. When should I throw it down so that there is some edible amounts left for Nov. 1st opening ay for Xbow?
