i seem to be googling conflicting info.. and local hunting store jockey said one thing.. and a friend said another....

 

I know you are not guaranteed your 1st pick of zone selection.

 

but do i have to ask speciffically for a 2nd tag and pay an extra 10$?  or is it also random whether or not you will get 2 doe tags?

 

in short I got my preference of 6k ( yay me)  but only got one tag. I was hoping to get a tag for a sperate area where i have some private land.

 

im confused :/

$10 covers 2 picks.

Did they ask you where you wanted your second pick? They should have. They may have put in the same area or skipped it which is wrong.

Side note, There are areas where they don't issue all the tags. Those remaining ones get a second go around about the beginning of November. Keep an eye out. They will publish a list and maybe your second area will have some although not many 6 areas show up IIRC.

 

Maybe the agent you went to can tell from the system what happened.

 

November drawing don't cost you anything if you paid your $10 in the first drawing.

okay so i should double check and make sure they didnt give me 2 in 6k  rather than what i wanted which is 1 in 6k  and one in 6r

They may have put you in for them and you didn't get the second. You gotta look at the probability charts. I don't even think you can apply for 6R as a second.

 

 

Edit___There are almost no seconds in 6 region. Which tells me they won't be on the late lottery

they had a 1st choice and 2nd choice...  and stated if you didnt get 1st choice it would default to second..... 6k is a preference point zone... Maybe I should have specified i wanted  6r for my second tag

Just got home and checked the tags. Bear. Standard deer. And 1 single doe tag for 6k

Your second choice was probably none but the computer and clerk don't know that and let you pick it anyway if I had to guess

Yep I called the store and he explained it.. 2nd choice needed a pref point for that area

No. You pick at the same time. I applied to a high first choice area and a hight second choice area and only got my first.

Nope they didn't tell me.. Just took 1st and 2nd. Had I known that's how it worked I would have picked a different 2nd choice.
