Adk trip 2014

Well I head up Friday night for a weekend hunt in ADKs as I go every year for last few years....any tips for how the hunting has been up there or items I should pack....feel free to include obvious ones as I may forget. working on sighting in my 12 gauge ad I bought a new scope for it at cabelas few weeks back...got a good start today hopefully fine tune tomorrow and shoot again Thursday just to double check....I'm shooting a mossberg 500 rifled barrel with the Hornady sst in 2 3/4 zero at 100 yards with a 3-7 scope....expensive to sight in lol...can't wait to hit the big woods!

Ok so I head out tonight....just outta plain curiosity should I use permitherin I've never used it or had tick problems but read a bunch on here about thwm this year do I need it this late in year?

Yep, them Hornady SST's get expensive. I would take something for ticks. Just to be on the safe side. Good luck on the hunt.

Pics from the weekend...didn't see jack other than a marten witch was a first for me...damn thing was 15 yrs in front of me playing on a tree was cool....not many shots this weekend up there either....maybe next year was still awsome trip tho even with a constant rain.

I remember that the hunting did not get good until 2 or 3 weeks into the season for bucks.

Yea normally try to make up for muzzle loader but didn't this year....guy leaves for Florida this week so only go up early.

How did the hornadys shoot? I have the same gun and put the Remington sabots through it.

Hornady shot great for me 2 in groups 2 in high at 100 yd inch low at 150 if needed best round I've found
