phade
There's a few timber companies offering leases in the southern tier...I'm wondering if there's anyone interested in partnership for such a lease. It'd be a two hour drive for me to the lease, and I'm looking for someone with similar distance, etc. Looks like many of the leases are in Chemung, Tioga, etc. A few in Cattaraugus. I have one partner with me who would want to join the lease. Most of these leases allow a camper or a rustic cabin to be built on it...and they often require a commitment of a few years (1-3 years). I'd most likely be using it regular firearms hunting and the occassional archery/turkey hunt. Want it more like a camp experience...been hunting high pressure lands in good areas, and I'd simply like to "get away" from the masses (orange army). Pretty sure we can plant plots in approved areas, too. The general going rate seems to be about $1k for 50 acres of woods. Might seem a tad high, but with all woods, the tracts hunt larger. Plus, you can post as your own land to control trespassing as best as possible.

Shoot me a message and we can talk more.

phade
Have a solid lead on a bow-only lease (as in it's bow only by law due to village location) and a small parcel for gun/bow/mz. It's promising based on aerials with two creek and a creek bottom woodline. It'll absolutely house deer once gun season starts as they pour in from the adjacent lands that are gun-huntable across the street. Second land is open for all seasons. Have two people in lease. Looking possibly for third for one or both leases. Bow only parcel totals 132 acres. (Wyoming Co.) Other parcel is 43 acres. (south central Livingston Co.) Landowner is by the book and solid. I would be the leaseholder and can add lease members as I deem fit. I will NOT charge a third member more for their share (as in, I pay the same rate). Owner is a former hunter who is too old to hunt. He owns 10 plus parcels and of them all he said he would hunt the bow-only piece above all others. Trying to put together an offer now. Cost has not been determined yet, but it should not be huge. I am looking at offering about 1,600 for both pieces....putting thirds at $500 and some change per person. It's year-round access (being responsible). He may well go for both pieces at that price. Please PM if interested.
