teamcowboyup
Got a good hit I thought on a doe. Found the arrow and good blood. Arrow had no blood but white slime on it. Followed blood for 150 yards and it seemed to stop but the blood was heavy.

landtracdeerhunter
Maybe fat or some kind of membrane material. Do you know where the hit was? Edited October 30, 2014 by landtracdeerhunter

Mr VJP
A low hit near the sternum (chest) will cause blood from the skin to flow, and put white fatty slime on the arrow. Trouble is, when skin and sternum are the only things cut, it bleeds well for a shot distance, then clots up and stops.
teamcowboyup
Ya I first thought it was a great shot beacause of the high kick but now I def think it was way low. Just shot a few arrows at the target and they are spot on for my stand and when I shot her I aimed low.
Mr VJP
The good news is, that shot will cut a deer's skin open, but it will heal up and not die from it. A friend of mine shot a deer like that, only to kill it 1 week later in the same area with a good shot.
teamcowboyup
Glad to here that it wont suffer and die that's my biggest worry. Now just hope this stand isn't done for tomorrow and the weekend.
