kyle31490
Was hunting in 9T tonight. Walking out, I came around a corner of thick stuff and there stood a good size bear feeding! It was a mere 25-35 yards away. It hadn't seen me. I watched it for about 1 minute to be sure it was alone. I pulled up for the shot, and as I was clicking the safety off I saw movement. Just then, a cub popped up out of a dip I didn't know was there! Had I not been patient, I surely would have made an error! Pretty lucky and glad I didn't shoot.

First-light
I have had five minutes go by without seeing a cub. DEC says its a tough situation to prove in the field.
CFHunter
I have had five minutes go by without seeing a cub. DEC says its a tough situation to prove in the field. I think it is another unenforceable rule the DEC officers has to work with. How can they prove you didn't 30 minutes to make sure there were no cubs before you shot. Unless they see you shot it with their own eyes and see the cub, they can't. But, on the other hand, if it makes you think and take that extra second, I guess it is doing something.
