nybuckboy
Gonna go out Friday afternoon and Sat/Sun too. Should have a west wind and thought about hanging a scent leaf. Was considering either an estrous leaf OR an Trails End 307. Which do you think would be best, those that are familiar with these.
First-light
They are in the second rut, go with the estrous, some big big bucks killed this week chasing does.
Geno C
anything is possible, you might catch a buck responding to that
arrow nocker
interesting.I often run this through my head too.If i hang the estrus and it scares a already breeded doe that might be passing thru, that would suck.It might bring in a curious buck. But "might" is the key word.Might scare one off too.I have tried it and didn't produce any thing. So this year i mostly gambled on luck and stealthness.Being as invisible as possible. It has worked better than the past couple years did with scents and sounds. It all depends on the area tho.50/50 chance.Spook or attract. nybuckboy
That's why I was wondering about the Trails End 307. It is an attractant for both bucks and and does. If the doe likes it then she may seek it out and the buck may follow. The claim is that many big buck have come to the end of the trail... hence the name Trails End. I believe it was the first scent manufacturered by Wildlife Research.
