Wild hogs in Cortland County

Anyone been Onondaga/Cortland county to hunt boars?  Trying to find a good spot with lots of activity before we head down.  Seems the town of Scott has a lot of boars taken this past year, and there is a State Forest nearby.

Try the state land. Most/all taken are targets of opportunity when hunting something else - usually deer.

Can you keep your dogs on the public land or on the relatively small parcels of private land if by chance you get permission?

Ive been down there looking for some hogs and never saw any and didn't see any sign of them.  I will def. be goin down again this winter however to try it again.

I live just north of cortland county and ive heard reports of hogs spotted as far north as the auburn area. has anyone else heard of hogs anywhere else?

Ive have a relative that lives in Spafford NY its near the town of Scott. He said that the hogs population is way down he said the DEC have been heavily trapping for the past 3 years since they just about ruined every field out there. So I dont think it would even be worth it.

Nueces Helicopter Pig Hunt (no music)

For those of you that think hogs are a good thing this is what they have resorted to for trying to control them. Ask any rancher in Texas if you can hunt hogs on there property and they will say yes. They will tell you to invite your friends and kill them all.
