NFA-ADK
You might have to take the course again. But your bow certificate should be valid. If you can renew your license that I believe is proof you took the course, any current license is suppose to be valid in other states as far as I know. Campsite sport shop would have your answers. Safety certificates use to be good for 10 years, if you do not have last years license to renew then I believe you would have to take to course again to get a valid license. You need last years license to get one for this year or a safety certificate that is less than 10 years old. A current hunting license should be proof enough to get you another license in other states, but you would have to check with that particular state. Dinsdale
Just call DEC in Albany.... They need year and location where you took the course. All I gave was the town as I didn't remember the actual name of the location. A week later I had a copy in the mail for an out of NY hunt.... Jaeger
Just call DEC in Albany.... They need year and location where you took the course. You will be asked for your name, date of birth, type of course you took and when and where you took the course. Certificates dated earlier than 1980 cannot be found or replaced. If you need a certificate and yours cannot be found, you will need to retake the course. Other State Certificates New York State accepts Sportsman Education Certificates from other states when purchasing a sporting licenses. Certificate Requirements in Other States and Countries: To verify whether a New York State Sportsman Education Certificate is accepted elsewhere, visit the International Hunter Education Association (External Link) to find certificate restrictions and requirements in all other states and countries. Many states and countries will require to see your hunter education certificate and will not accept your hunting or trapping license as proof of a certificate. Found this on the DEC site "Sportsmans Edcuation" page, hope it helps. Jaeger Edited September 27, 2015 by Jaeger
