DMP tags and was issued

My son got his tags in August and was issued a dmp tag.....He was getting his stuff ready to hunt this weekend with his crossbow and did not see his dmp tag so he went back to dicks and told the clerk who went back on his computer and issed him another dmp tag...So my question is does he now have 2 tags or is the first void now?

the first tag would be void now. ive had this happen before and the store said if I were to find the original tag to toss it out

They probably reprinted the same tag, they are numbered

Not to confuse the issue, too much but it could depend on what WMU you are in...I got two "leftover" tags on Nov 1 for 3M.  If there were extra DMP's in your zone, he may now have two tags.  More than likely though, they probably just reprinted it or printed a new one and void the first.

While we are on the subject ~ do we get brownie points for filling them? It's actually a serious question. I've heard of people getting sent a extra one in the mail, is filling them the reason why?

They have 2 different numbers...as far I know they really never give 2 for our area and you need 2pts to get the tag in the first place...I am gonna try to call DEC today before i chuck the first tag....
