ATrainAllDay
I know family friends take advantage of my parents and their 75 acres in Franklinville. Wondering what the rear 65 acres plus a cirn field and 11 standing high stands would bring. Prime Route 16 land
The_Real_TCIII
Check out base camp leanings site to get an idea. The one I have now is $20 an acre
mlammerhirt
Would the front 75 acres still be occupied by family?? If you don't mind me asking what are high stands?? ATrainAllDay
The front 10 acres are occupied. It's the back 65 that are mostly oak, pines and maples. I'm sorry, I had a bit to drink last night so I didn't look to see that that didn't make sense lol. I meant that there are 11 (give or take) tree stands that are still up. I honestly just don't care for the people whom only get ahold of my parents when it comes to hunting season. We all understand the early hours, ATVs etc but they get their dog riled up, park next to my parents house and practically block them in. Their driveway to their house is roughly 300 yards from road to house, there's no need to rev up the atv's and annoy them. My parents are too nice but its not like they're getting any meat, let alone a dime. The back is loaded with cut trails that make it easy as well. hunting_101
What are you looking to get for the land. I'm more then respectable. Don't mind pushing the quad to trails to avoid aggravation for your parents. I hunt with one other person. Quiet in and out of all sites. I will even give them some of the meat harvested. Let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ATrainAllDay
Was never really sure how the hunting leases worked as I've always used the land, my parents are easy going for the most part so I'll just run ideas by them. To be honest I'd just be thrilled with nice, respectful folk if they choose to extend the option. I mentioned the price of the motor replaced on the pull behind bush hog, gas, and endless hours of time and he just said how its a shame and yadda. I assured that while they were riding trails that my old man cut out alot more specifically to make it easier to get to the stands in the brush, etc. I intend on hunting their next year and am going to try to shore up the arrangements for 2016 and beyond. I definitely don't need all the land up back for myself. Just based on your response, you're a good example of how a respectful hunter should be, and give the sport a good name. ???? stoneam2006
I would also be interested if arrangements are made I live in hinsdale and hunt primarily by myself for most of season. Hope you figure something out and can make the season a Lil less hectic around your parents place. LongTimeHunter
I would be interested in leasing the hunting rights. I have hunted with my father in this area for over 30 years. Would purchase own insurance and sign any waivers needed. Have great relationships with all owners we hunt on and some times with. Always happy to share the meat and wine with the owners. hunting_101
I'm still interested in the property. I know it is early for next year but I always like to be prepared. Actually it's this years hunting season. Let me know so I can get my self situated and maybe come up during the summer and help around the land if your parents need any yard work done.
