46rkl
Absolutely sounds like someone doesn't want you hunting in that spot. Wether it is theirs or not! Scumbags. I had a similar situation earlier this week. I walked up the hill to my neighbors land where I have a stand (with his permission) and thought that I was a little turned around in the dark as I couldn't find the ladder stand ( first time there this year). I sat on a nearby stump steaming over some dirt bag stealing my stand until light enough to see and to my surprise, there's the stand, about forty yards away! Seems someone decided to move it off of Jakes property and on to their own. Stupid, stupid, stupid. It was nice of them to put new straps on the ladder, I'll be glad to use them on it in its next location, about a hundred yards away with a cable and lock on it all. A group of guys (different than previous years) lease the land off of my neighbors and they have been a difficult bunch. I have found three dead deer, all shot in the hindquarters and lost by them. I've never had a problem with stands or cameras but everything is getting locked down now.
SuperMag
The same exact thing happened to me. I had a 16 ft ladder stand and someone stole the bottom section on the private property that only myself, my father, and my neighbor hunt on. It was stolen over the summer and randomly found laying somewhere in the woods during this season by my neighbor..... Weird
PREDATE
Eddie, I only use two sections of ladder for my stand and have a third section just collecting dust. It's yours if you want it but I'm over 2 hours away from you. If anyone is headed through Owego area on 17/86 towards Rochester, let me know and you can pick it up to take to Eddie.I'll be returning to Canandaigua from Boston on the 29th and I'll be visiting family in Johnson City/Endicott on the way. We come right through Owego. If this helps, let me know.Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk
fasteddie
My oldest son had permission to hunt a property on West Bloomfield Road a few years ago . The guys that had been hunting the property for years didn't like the idea of new blood hunting the land . They gave some BS spiel to the land owner and my son was told he should find another place to hunt . I told him he should get his ladder stands out of there but he didn't want to disrupt their hunting and waited till after the season was over . When he went to get the 3 stands , only one was there . The guys not only screwed him out of hunting the property , they stole 2 of his stands . As for putting tracking chips in stands , it's only good if they take the whole stand .
