Note the application. It works very well in medium capaity cases W/medium for caliber bullets.

I use it in 30/40 Krag, 7mm-08, 8X57IS & plan to use it in 7X57. It will attain about 100fps average Mv @ similar chamber rpessure to the old stand-bys.

The Norma MRP has shown astounding results at moderate chamber pressure in 280 Rem W/140gr bullets & I am planning on using it in my 8-mm-06 Ackley.

It is nice to see the Norma MRP available, real good stuff. When you see the velocities you get without signs of high pressure it seems to defy the laws of reloading.

Al

W/140gr bullets in 280 Rem you can't get enough of it into the case to get much above 60K. I used a drop tube & ran compressed loads @ 7mm Mag factory Mv & sub 1/2" groups @ 100yds. .

In addition to the 8mm-06 Ackley, it should work extremely well in 6.5X55 & 8X68S.

W/RL-17 & MRP, I can cover everything from the Krag @ 45K to the big 8s @ 63K. In the big 8s MRP will get into high pressure, but not W/O compressed loads.

Have you use the Norma MRP in your 7x57?

I bought some Norma 203B and 204 for that.

The 7X57 case capacity isn't big enough in relation to the bore to get the most out of MRP. RL-17 will be more efficient in the 7X57 just like the 7mm-08 & 8X57IS.

6.5 X 55 on the other hand as well as the 8mm-06 Ackley have the case capacity/bore ratio to utilize MRP. The same seems to be true of .243 Win & 6mm Rem

RL-17 was designed for short magnums while MRP is more for the standard magnums W/larger case capacity. They both bridge any gaps in performance.

I'm going to try magnum primers W/the RL-17 to see if it brings actual Mv up to predictions. W/standard primers I have to go 2-3 grains heavier to reach predicted Mv/pressure. I already use magnum primers W/MRP

Thanks, just asked because it's listed in the Norma loading manual.

I did a moderate pressure model & MRP wasn't far off the pace W/RL-17 & fared better than Norma 204 or Norma 203B The pressure W/MRP was very mild compared to the others. The case was filled to about maximum though & would probably require a drop tube & would result in significantly compressed loads.
