2 missing after 7 go over falls at Letchworth

CASTILE, N.Y. (WKBW) - UPDATE: Police say one of the boys has been found dead. The other boy is still missing. Police are not identifying which boy was found.

New York State Park Police are now being assisted by New York State Police with multiple people that fell over the lower falls at Letchworth State Park.

On June 11th at approximately 7 pm, seven people went over the lower falls at Letchworth State Park, five of which were rescued and then transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Their injuries varied from serious to minor.

Has anybody heard how it happened that 7 people went over a falls at the same time? I'm trying to picture how that could happen.

I believe one or both boys slipped down and then one at a time they each went down trying to save each other...news report this morning...

Page said the group was playing in the water when someone slipped, which led to them all being carried over the falls.

Has anybody heard how it happened that 7 people went over a falls at the same time? I'm trying to picture how that could happen.

Can't find the link right now , but what I read a group was hiking , went past the " no entry" area or ever they call it and entered the water . It was an area of sloppy rocks and as we all know swift water that is always before falls .

One fell in and It seems like others tried to grab that person and they ended up in the fast moving water above the falls .
